The guest house is beautiful. The attention to detail is stunning. I have used this guest house twice now and will keep using it for my trips to the area

The cottage was very tastefully decorated and well equipped. Gys made us feel very welcome and attended to everything we needed, even phoning us to notify us that we forgot our charger there. We will definitely stay at 79 on Ridge again when in Pietermaritzburg.

Lovely place to saty and has become my go to location when in the area, clean friendly but also distinctly different.

What a lovely place with all the antiques and themed rooms. Gys was very friendly and helpful. Communication was prompt and clear. good breakfast was served.

I can't put into words the appreciation and gratitude I have for Gys who welcomed me and my Mom into his accommodation. My Mom arrived a few days prior to me due to a family emergency and he was extremely helpful in ensuring she could get to the shops, felt welcomed and comfortable until I could get there. The accommodation was excellent. Spacious rooms with ensuites. Comfortable beds. Totally unique bohemian style, lovely garden to have your morning coffee in or evening drink by the Koi pond. I can't recommend them enough. Will definitely use again in the future if ever needed.

If u need a warm and quite place 79 on ridge is the place to be in Pmb. Warm and friendly welcome, food 100%.Will definitely book again.

I experienced such a friendly welcome, and the most feminine and exuberantly decorated room that had been created with great flair. The warmth of the hospitality and generosity of spirit was truly one of a kind. Thank you Gys for a very happy stay.

Fantastic hosts, very welcoming and helpful, great room with a super comfortable bed. The fabulous cooked breakfast was perhaps the highlight of my stay! Conveniently situated for the airport the city and the freeway.

We spent a lovely weekend at 79 Ridge early in December. Our hosts Gys and Denzil were friendly and welcoming, which made us feel at home immediately. We stayed in the self-catering unit which was extremely comfortable and very well appointed. The pool was great to cool off after the long hot days and nothing was too much trouble for our hosts, so we had an excellent stay.

Fantastic little B and B with lots of character and a great host. Only stayed for the 1 night as we were passing through the area but would definitely recommend it to anyone. Breakfast was HUGE and very tasty. Felt like a nice safe neighbourhood and the property had the usual security kit found in SA. Stay here, you won’t be disappointed.
