Lovely place to stay, the hosts, Shona and Billy, made us feel at home. The attention to every detail in the place was very touching. The rooms and the cleanliness were perfect. The location is very central, close to the town centre. The breakfast was personalised, and they are very good at accommodating every diet choice. I can't thank them enough! Highly recommend it.

Just like all the previous reviews Billy & Shona were absolutely fantastic hosts, and we couldn't have asked for more. Extremely welcoming and helpful, room was spotless and the bed linen had fantastic fragrance, great wi-fi ,plenty information on restaurants etc,shower very powerful and to round it off what a great choice of breakfast and cooked to perfection. If I'm ever in torquay I wouldn't even bother looking anywhere else. This to me was perfection. Thank you, Billy, and Shona

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this charming B&B run by the loveliest hosts, Shona and Billy. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed – they are the definition of perfect hosts. The location is ideal – just a flat 10–15 minute walk to the seafront, making it easy to explore everything Torquay has to offer. Our room was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable. The beds were super comfy, and the large bathroom featured a powerful, hot shower. The room was well-equipped with a hairdryer and a great selection of toiletries including shampoo and conditioner. Fresh milk, teas, sugar, complimentary bottled water and biscuits were also topped up daily – such thoughtful touches. An iron and ironing board were available if needed. Another lovely feature was the honesty bar – a cosy shared space with a TV, music, darts, games, and a great selection of drinks. It was a perfect spot to relax in the evenings. Breakfast each morning was something to look forward to. There was so much choice, and everything was freshly made to a very high standard. The fruit salad was fresh and delicious, and it was clear that quality ingredients were a priority – with bacon and sausages from the local butcher and eggs straight from the farm. Shona and Billy were always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed and were so warm and friendly – genuinely lovely people who made our stay feel special from start to finish. We couldn’t have asked for more – highly recommend to anyone visiting Torquay!

We stayed at Abingdon House for three nights in August and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Billy and Shona are the perfect hosts – warm, welcoming, and friendly, while never being intrusive. The location is great, with a lovely 30-minute walk to the seafront or just a 5–7 minute drive. Our room was spacious and well-equipped, with plenty of wardrobe space, handy chargers, mirrors, and a generously sized bathroom. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic, with lots of delicious choices and very filling. On-site parking was also a big plus. We would highly recommend Abingdon House to anyone visiting the area – a wonderful stay from start to finish!

We had a great stay at Abingdon house. Very good location - only 10 min walk to the beach, very cozy home, super kind hosts, excellent breakfast, free parking. We really recommend it.

Thank you Billy and Shona for our lovely stay at Abingdon house. We were grateful that we were able to check in early to attend a nearby wedding! Our room was immaculate, the breakfast was great and you were very welcoming hosts. Would definitely stay here again and great value for money!

Another lovely stay at Abingdon House. Billy and Shona are excellent hosts, very friendly and welcoming. They made our stay extra special and were extremely helpful to us, allowing us to book in early due to train times and even spent time with us one evening chatting for a while on our return from a trip out. The rooms are well appointed, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The breakfast is delicious, with a good choice of food available. We have been before and will hopefully be returning next year!

Billy and Shona were excellent Hosts and came across as very Caring.The Breakfasts were presented and cooked to perfection by Billy and even catered for my Wife Valerie who is Coeliac We came away from our break both relaxed and would definitely book again. Thank you Billy&Shona x
