I am about to travel back home from Achilles hotel Methoni. The Hotel is more of a family run guest house. All the staff are like a big family. Rooms are great. Very clean everywhere. Nothing is too much for them. Like all the other reviews I don't have a word of criticism. Short walk to beach. Around 10-11 Greek restaurants in the area. No Chinese or Indian restaurants and definitely no McDonald's. No disco's or late entertainment. No high-rise buildings. Methoni is like going back in time. Historically mind blowing. Massive ruins 16th century castle/fortress. Only two streets. Very peaceful. I will definitely be back.

An excellent small hotel that benefits from the customer care you rarely find. The owner Elene was outstanding and helped us with restaurant selections and places to go, arranging a really friendly and cheap taxi taxi driver. Room : very clean on arrival and cleaned every day. Bed was really comfortable and we both slept well throughout the week. Bathroom had a great “drench shower” and water was always as hot as you required. Breakfast : a lovely selection of pastries, cold meats, fried eggs,sausage / bacon. Plus the most delicious Greek yougurt ever! Location:although set on a main route into Methoni it is very quiet indeed. The beach and castle are just 200m away and about 12 restaurants a similar distance and within easy walking distance - our favourites were the traditional Greek restaurant “Sapienza” and “Modon” on the square. If you like your cocktails visit the Trojan House just 100m away. Achilles Hotel is definitely worth booking!

The Achilles is well situated at the centre of town right next to some fine restaurants. Staff are amazing and friendly. All in all a very relaxing experience. Rooms and facilities are all clean and tidy. Beds are very comfortable. Could barely hear any noise from other guests. Nearby attractions take a little energy however are nothing short of amazing ??

We have just returned from this lovely little family run hotel in Methoni. It is so friendly and serene so we feel quite refreshed. The rooms are very pleasant, the beds very comfortable, the air-conditioning is efficient and the maid service is very good. Breakfast is good - a choice of bread, pastries, eggs, meats and cheeses, salad, fruit and yoghurt. Good orange juice and nice coffee. The hotel is a short distance away from the beautiful sandy beach,clear sea water, the wonderful castle, the little town centre with useful shops and a good range of tavernas. We used the hotel taxi service to visit Pylos one day - nice castle, town and waterfront - and another day we went by taxi to Foinikunta again to explore the little shops and beach. All in all we have had a really enjoyable fortnight.

Hotel a gestione familiare recentemente ristrutturato, belle camere dotate di ampio terrazzo. Buona colazione sia dolce che salata, in ambiente luminoso e arioso. Molto gentile la titolare.

Lovely staff, clean and spacious room, great location. Not too crowded at this time of year (May into June); although the season hadn't started for many businesses, still plenty of choice for eating and drinking. (We found the mattress too firm, but this is down to individual preference.)

A fabulous stay from the moment we arrived, rooms are spotless and kept that way for the week. Very large comfortable bed,and plenty of storage for cases etc. Breakfast is second to none, fresh eggs,toast, Greek yogurt honey fresh fruit, cakes, it was endless all served at our table. This hotel is right in the centre of the village so everywhere is accessible, never noisy thouogh, highly recommend for a wonderful friendly stay We have already booked our return visit for next year

Excellent hotel with lovely helpful owners. Always checking that everything is OK. Bedrooms are spacious and very clean. Staff very friendly. Breakfast is wonderful with plenty of choice. Mooi en goed hotel met prachtig zeezicht , goede bedden en vriendelijk personeel, mooi en groot zwembad en lekker ontbijt buiten bij een mooi uitzicht over Methoni. Ligt aan een steile weg dus je moet wel een beetje kunnen klimmen.

We stayed at this hotel from 28th June for 11 nights. The owner and family were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was very clean, with a compact bathroom with a proper walk-in shower. There was always plenty of hot water. Our breakfast was included, and there was a fair amount of choice. It is a short walk from the restaurants, shops in the village, also the beach and castle.
