The pool of the hotel and the food were really good. The people are here to please you and do everything to make you stay pleasant. The only thing to improve are the rooms. For the Price that is quite high for the island, we would expect room cleaner and with more décorations.

Anathaya Beach resort has been our favorite hotel we’ve stayed at so far in our Sri Lanka holiday. It’s set cliffside with a gorgeous view of the beach where you can watch waves crashing on the reef and break walls while relaxing at the pool. People who are complaining about the location are out of their mind. It took me, literally on day 3 of driving a tuk tuk the first time in my life, about 10 minutes to get to town by tuk tuk. Its so much nicer being out in the quiet countryside. By far the cleanest hotel we’ve stayed at. The room was extremely spacious and so clean it felt nearly sterile. The grounds of the resort were kept flawless even shortly after a powerful storm. The restaurant is extremely reasonably priced and had a great selection of fresh seafood every day. I didn’t catch the names of all of the restaurant’s service staff but everyone was above and beyond. We wanted to try other places while out beach hopping but regretted every meal we spent away from Ananthaya’s restaurant and view! My wife and I rarely take advantage of spa treatments while traveling but after reading a few other reviews we decided to give it a try. I had the 90 minute deep tissue and my wife had the 90 minute Ayurvedic full body. Our therapists, Damith and Nimalsha, were both outstanding. Highly suggest taking advantage of their spa while you’re there as much as possible!

Our stay at Ananthaya Beach on March 29th, 2025, was a fantastic last-minute decision after we changed our travel plans from Sigiriya. We were immediately greeted with a lovely refreshing juice, and the caretakers set a wonderfully relaxed tone. Understanding how tired we were after waking up at 4 am for Yala Safari, they let us get to our room right away without asking for passports immediately – so accommodating! The room itself was spacious with calming sea views and was conveniently close to the pool. Swimming with my partner and seeing a firefly for the first time was a truly magical and romantic moment. The food was another highlight! Our dinner on the first night was so good that we didn't hesitate to have lunch there the next day as well. Huge compliments to the chef – the meals were great, and it was nice to even see the fresh seafood they had sourced. What really stood out was the incredibly welcoming and trusting nature of the caretakers. They kindly allowed us a very late checkout around 1:30 pm, which made us feel completely at ease and valued. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer due to a non-cancellable booking in Tangalle. The single minor hiccup was a tuk-tuk driver, arranged via the hotel, who tried to charge us extra. Despite that small point, I wholeheartedly recommend Ananthaya Beach! It was a genuinely comfortable and welcoming stay.

This is an amazing spot. I could not believe it was not a 4 star hotel but now I know this is due to room numbers. The staff are so wonderful and from day one we were made to feel like nothing was too much. Nishan looks after the grounds and is just the most lovely gentleman, looking after us, bringing us aloe Vera from the garden to help with sun tan/ burn. The guys in the bar are so very lovely and I could not mention one over another, so thanks to all for their wonderful sri lankan welcome. The food is great. The sri lankan breakfast is a must have. We had a sea view room and it was so beautiful. The beach is so quiet and beautiful, alrhough you need a torch on a night, tk find tour way home. Try sitting on the balcony for the sun rise at 6.20 with a cup of tea or coffee. We did not do Yala this time but went to the turtle conservatory and had a great evening, although is was organised chaos. Try a facial or spa experience. Sandaraka was just so professional, but friendly and I felt so relaxed afterwards. I will definitely come back again.

Na een mooie reis door Sri Lanka is het hier heerlijk relaxen in dit hotel. Met prima kamers uitkijkend over tuin en verderop de zee. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en zeer behulpzaam. Niets is veel moeite en ze verlenen uitstekende service. Het eten is uitstekend en ze bieden ruime keuze. Er zijn ook diverse massage mogelijkheden aanwezig . En ook mogelijkheden voor excursies en goede plek om bij te komen.

Très bon accueil, le staff est très attentionné, la chambre est très propre et très confortable. Le restaurant de l'h?tel était parfait, des plats délicieux. Rien à redire. Seul point plus "négatif" la plage n'est pas paradisiaque, malgré la protection de 2 digues, il faut marcher une dizaine de minutes pour trouver un endroit propice à la baignade. Mais la piscine de l'h?tel compense complètement cela. Les rideaux de la chambre pourraient être plus occultants, le soleil se lève juste en face des chambres.

What a fantastic hotel, amazing setting overlooking the Indian Ocean. Quiet location ideal for chilling out while visiting Sri Lanka. Accommodation was clean and provided for all our needs. Food in stunning open restaurant was authentic Sri Lankan. Would love to return in the future.

Super séjour dans ce petit coin de paradis. Le personnel est au petit soin, la vue est splendide, la piscine à débordement avec vue sur la mer et les chambres spacieuses propres. Petit chemin d’accès à une plage très calme. C’était parfait ??????
