I would highly HIGHLY recommend Assava dive resort if you are thinking about doing your padi!! The whole team is amazing but super special shout out for Russ. He is such a patient, thorough teacher who is really engaging and keeps things interesting! So so much so that we decided to stay on to do our advanced padi! Don’t hesitate to book with Russ, you won’t be disappointed!

In advance - diving itself is enjoyable, and several of the dive guides are highly experienced and professional, doing an excellent job. The resort offers also some good services such a transportation, luggage handling and daily drinking water as well as toilet paper provided by housekeeping. Unfortunately this is overshadowed by poor organization on the resort side. The reception and overall organization leave much to be desired. Communication via email is slow, often taking more than 24 hours to receive a response. At check-in, guests are simply handed their room key without any introduction or orientation. No information is provided about the resort facilities, housekeeping, dining options, diving operations, or other services. While the lack of certain services (such as laundry) may be acceptable, there are also no recommendations or assistance offered for external alternatives. Transportation from the ferry is available during standard arrival times, with a taxi waiting at the pier to bring guests to the resort. However, during the often chaotic disembarkation process, the driver can be difficult to identify, as they may be holding signs for multiple resorts and there are a lot more taxi drivers doing the same. Transportation from the resort back to the pier operates only twice daily. If your ferry departs at a different time, guests are left to organize transport on their own, with no support from the reception. Dive logistics feel chaotic and inconsistent. Guests are frequently assigned different guides, and each day requires re-explaining equipment needs such as BCD size and weight requirements. On some occasions, staff were not even aware that guests were scheduled to dive, despite sign-ups being completed in advance. This has absolutely nothing to do with the professionality of the guides, but with the organisation of the resort. There is no designated storage for guests who dive frequently or bring their own equipment. The rinse stations and dive boat are unhygienic, with strong odors and visibly dirty rinse water, discouraging proper gear cleaning. Guests are responsible for carrying dive bags themselves, which might be okey for the ones brining their own equipment but not for those renting full equipment sets. Additionally, equipment handling lacks structure and care, and after dives guests are instructed to simply take any bag back to the rinse area. This creates a high risk of mix-ups and damage, particularly for those traveling with expensive personal equipment. In our case, this led to equipment being forcefully disconnected and parts temporarily lost, highlighting the lack of proper procedures and oversight. When renting a BCD from the resort, be aware that all pull cords on the lower dump valves have been removed, making those valves unusable. Surprisingly, even the dive guides were unaware of the reason. After asking the resort directly, we were told this was done for "safety" reasons - apparently to prevent the cord from

We are here due to recommendation from a friend and aren't disappointed. Having dived in Sariee before as a 'young couple', we were advised that Chalok (Assava) was much better for a family trip. Our boy is 14 and VERY nervous. The staff have been awsome! Mara took our son through his open water and has been amazing for him. He has been so nervous about doing it for weeks.... but is now mid way through his advanced with Mara. We can not thank the staff enough for what they have done for us, in particular our son. He is literally a different boy. Thanks so much to Natalie, Emma, Mara and all the other fantastic staff for making this such a great stay. Xxx

we were there with our son (14) who did the open water course…..everything was very professional and really chilled …super cool place, restaurant, new rooms, management is very professional and everyone is so helpful and friendly….THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! @ Franzi as open water teacher @ Natalie as Manager @ Chris and Arien (sorry for spelling) as dive masters we had a great time ??????

Scuba diving staff and resources are great. Relatively new to diving we did fun dives for our stay. We stayed in a bungalow which was very comfortable. The resort is very laid back and the area is off the main drag in a quiet area right on the beach. Plenty of fantastic eating options nearby, alongside the beach. The photo shows the entrance to the resort and importantly, shows probably the best place to get a coffee, which also includes coffee tea.

Hicimos una excursión de buceo con Toni y no podemos estar más felices. Tenemos una peque?a de 1 a?o y medio y no sabíamos si íbamos a poder organizarnos, pero el equipo nos ayudó en todo momento y finalmente pudimos disfrutar de la experiencia. Como llevábamos mucho tiempo sin bucear, tomamos primero un refresh en el que ganamos confianza y seguridad. Después, las inmersiones fueron maravillosas. Toni es muy profesional, además de una persona encantadora. Queremos darle las gracias a ella y a todos el equipo de Assava Diving por ponernos las cosas tan fáciles. !Ha asido un placer!

Lodging: We stayed in the resort in the superior room which is kind of behind the main resort area/away from the beach so keep that in mind when booking. Simple room, pretty clean (minor stains on bedding and towels), AC worked great, gave us water bottles everyday, though no hot water (which is ok for April cause it’s so hot outside) and the room they gave us the balcony faced a dirty creek so we didn’t get to use it at all cause it was filled with bugs. If you can splurge on a bungalow, definitely recommend. They decorated our room for our anniversary which was nice. Unfortunately, Front desk customer service was very minimal, kind of felt like they didn’t want us there so that’s a bummer especially since room rates were on the higher side compared to Thai pricing. I wanted to see if we could switch rooms but didn’t bother cause was already worried about the front desk experience. Aside from that it’s a beautiful beach side resort at a quieter part of the island. Oh you likely need a motorbike if staying here if you want to explore more - not too many things close by & the beach/bay in front isn’t really swimmable. Diving: Loved diving with Assava! Natalie the manager was really nice, answered all our questions and gave snorkeling recs around the island which we appreciated. Libby was our dive master for the two days we dove and she was awesome - so attentive, informative, and sweet. Spectacular dives at chumphon, twins, and sail rock (a must!), all our gear was in good condition and their operations were ran well.

We did an Open Water Course. It was our first time diving, and I had mobility issues. From first contact, I was reassured I would be assigned an instructor who was qualified to adapt approaches to suit me. Max was an excellent instructor, kind, patient, and fun, too. He was always on hand to help me, whether in the water or crossing from boat to boat at the pier. I'd totally recommend Max, but other instructors I came into contact with were friendly and helpful too. A special mention to Blair for jumping in last minute to film me. I'm glad we chose Assava Dive resort for our course.

Excellent séjour passé dans cet établissement. Petit chalet confortable dans un resort et centre de plongée. Très bon accueil et service, petit déjeuner très agréable servi vue mer. Nuits calmes, proches de superbes plages pour faire du snorking. Nous y avons louer un scooter pour découvrir les petits joyaux de la c?te
