We loved this hotel, a gorgeous pool for relaxation, lovely size room and outside bathroom and great access to the rugged coastline of the east coast. Catherine was super friendly and couldn’t do enough, she was fantastic at getting me to relax which doesn’t come easy. We went just before the season started which as we are not into surfing was perfect, we had many private pool swims, the beach was deserted and on our Kumana safari we only saw 4 other jeeps!! Only negative was the cost of the restaurant and breakfast options. The meals were all excellent but allot more than we had paid elsewhere where on our trip and no real Sri Lankan options for breakfast which we missed, We did go to paper moon for breakfast one day for a Sri Lankan breakfast for a fraction of the cost which we would recommend.

Babar Point is a fantastic place to be. You direct feel like home, if you visit good friends. The bungalows are beautiful, hot shower, good aircon, fantastic bed. The pool is cool and a good place to hang around. Restaurant and food is also great, what else do you need... We took surf lessons, great price and cool instructor. But the best are the two host and their team. Thanks for a good time. So if you are near Arugam Bay, this is the place to stay.
Babar Point Arugam Bay was last stop in our Sri Lankan adventure. It is located about 30 min with scooter from Arugam Bay tourist area, near Whiskey and Pottuvil points. Near perfect surf area at Pottuvil point but far enough from hectic Arugam Bay. It is really an oasis with only 6 bungalows around a great pool and under the palm trees. This haven is owned and managed by Catherine and Michel and they were more than helpful in any way we needed. They arranged surfing lessons, scooter rentals and a trip to Monastery plus provided any other information we needed. The rooms were spotless and they smelled so nice, like at home and the food was also great. It was really like coming home after days at the beach or long motorcycle trips around Arugam Bay area. Oh yeah, food is also delicious here!
Lovely small resort with 6 bungalows around the central pool, beach garden, relaxed bed under the porch. However beach in front of the compound is not useful because of heavy waves and no facilities such as lifeguards. Direct surroundings are poorly developed. Arugam Bay is 10km away, 20 minutes tuk tuk ride; quite distant!
Mooi resort met 6 bungalows/kamers rondom een prachtig aangelegd zwembad in een weelderige tuin. Lekker eten (wat een ontbijt!) met een bijzonder fijn uitzicht over de zee. Catherine en Michel + hun fantastisch personeel zorgden voor een onvergetelijk verblijf.
Meine Gattin und ich sind im Rahmen unserer Rundreise in Sri Lanka zum Glück hier gelandet und konnten uns bestens nach intensiven Reise- und Besichtigungstagen ausruhen. Wir k?nnen sagen, einfach Spitze; die Gastfreundschaft von Catherine und ihrem Gatten, die super freundlichen Mitarbeiter, das Essen und die Shakes, die ausgezeichnete selbstgemachte Marmelade zum Frühstück, der nette und extrem saubere Bungalow, die paradiesische Gartenanlage und natürlich der unschlagbare Swimmingpool. I spent wonderful 8 days at Babar Point with my son who wanted to try surfing. The owners Catherine and Michael were amazing host professional, helpful and warm??They assisted in arranging surfing lessons and transportation without any fee. The place is perfectly clean, maintained and organized. Also the food was delicious. Highly recommend!!
Nous avons adoré séjourner au Babar Point et aurons aimé y rester plus longtemps! Dès notre arrivée, nous nous sommes sentis chez nous, l’accueil était très chaleureux. Le lieu est juste incroyable, on sent que tout a été réfléchi pour que nous nous sentions bien. La chambre est ultra confortable, avec une belle salle de bain en extérieur. La terrasse ultra cosy. La piscine est immense, et très belle. Le restaurant est très bon. Nous avons notamment adoré la confiture maison du petit dej. Catherine et Michel, les h?tes, sont supers ! Ils sont francophones ce qui est un petit plus. Et ils sont aux petits soins. Ils nous ont organisé une super excursion Safari en Tuktuk dans les environs, nous avons adoré ! Ils nous ont également organisé un cours de surf avec des profs géniaux! Bref, n’hésitez pas à y séjourner, quite a faire un petit détour! Une fois que vous y serez, vous ne voudrez plus en partir ! Bei Catherine und Michel hatten wir Ferien in unseren Ferien! Babar Point ist der richtige Ort zum Entspannen und wortw?rtlich die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Dabei wird man unterstützt von den beiden liebenswürdigen Gastgebern und den Mitarbeitern, die einem jedem Wunsch erfüllen. Die Bungalows sind hübsch und sauber, das Essen ist sehr lecker und die Atmosph?re ist so entspannt, wie wir es noch selten erlebt haben. Gerne zitiere ich eine TripAdvisor-Bewertung, die es auf den Punkt gebracht hat: "Den einzigen Fehler, den Sie hier machen k?nnen ist, nicht zu buchen."
A small and secluded resort, with about six small bungalows set in a verdant garden around a lovely swimming pool. It is a short walk from the beach at Whisky Point and about 20 mins by tuk-tuk north of Pottuvil. The resort has been beautifully conceived and managed by a Swiss couple, with the correct balance between simplicity, high standards and respect for nature. The food is good, though you may want to request it more spicy. Alcohol is not served but guests can bring their own supplies. There were few other guests at the time of my stay in February, the weather was perfect, and the calm was absolute.
