I spent five nights at the Bamboo Retreat where I appreciated being in nature, yet close to the city center. Babita the Operations Manager was very helpful to organize different activities for example a day trip to lake Changu, which as a solo travel wasn’t easy as it takes at least two international foreigners to visit some of the tourist destinations. I did the introduction to meditation with Kalden which was an enriching experience as he has a lot of knowledge that he passes on in a playful way. As it was my birthday during my stay Babita and the team surprised me with a cake which was a very kind gesture. Some of the activities that are mentioned on the website such as yoga and massages weren’t at offer when I was there. As I only inquired once I was there, I would recommend for people who are interested to inquire in advance.

This place is magic. Nestled in a beautiful garden with a lot of piece and nice landecape. The staff was very helpful and caring, making my stay memorabile. Rooms have a lot of charme and are decorated with local furniture and textiles. Highly recommended!! Thanks to Sunita for all her attentions.

From the horning streets of Darjeeling to the windy trail of singalila, bamboo retreat really came like an oasis of peace for us. With a beautiful garden who also provides food that you can eat, cosy bed rooms and peaceful landscape, this place was for me and my girlfriend a very resourceful place to be. Kind and professional staff always here to help and guide you if you want to explore the area. We had a very good stay there for 4 days. Don’t hesitate to text their instagram for more information and help.

Perfect place to end our travels in the North East of India. Hosts were hospitable and warm. It doesn’t get much better than cozy evening in front of a crackling fire with a homemade kiwi wine. Breakfast and dinners were exceptional, highlighting produce grown in the hotel garden. The nettle soup and potato curry were a highlight.

Beautiful, quiet retreat in Rumtek with its own organic garden and lovely meals prepared with their own vegetables. Delightful staff! And a beautiful meditation room upstairs. Definitely recommend for a tranquil stay. Just a shirt drive from here to the inspiring, historic monastery.

This is a brilliant place with lovely people. We were treated to a great experience of authentic local cooking, all with home grown ingredients. Bhawana is a great is a great host and her team made us a wonderful lunch - we were able to join in the preparation so we knew it was completely fresh. I would definitely recommend a visit!

A beautiful oase of beauty and peace. A great staff and delicious food! Everything is at hand: cosy rooms, a beautiful garden, a warm fireplace in december. On a return trip to Sikkim I would definitively revisit. The staff did everything to make you feel at home. My go to pace in Rumtek

Stylish decoration with lots of regional objects, excellent meals next to a fire place, profesionnel and very friendly staff, clean and quiet rooms (hot water bottle for the bed at night!) surrounded by a big and lush garden with flowers, vegetables and fruit trees. We‘ll come back!

Excellent warm hospitality and serenic beauty ...... It felt like a home away from home....... The mesmerizing view of gangtok at night and amazing view of Himalayan ranges at day from the balcony....Thanku for a wonderful experience...worth every penny.....

The most exhilarating, zen moment place to live/stay. The staff and the manager are so much helpful and above all treat you like own family. The dishes that get cooked are out of place as they pick ingredients from their own property garden. The whole place is on a steep hill so get your trekking shoes. I came for 1 night and ended up staying for a week. I shall repeat a million times again as there is so much to explore just in this property....
