We booked the Baskerville Inn for a stopover night on our Thames Path walk and were very pleased we did. We were warmly welcomed by the staff on arrival and found our room to be immaculate and very clean. The dining area was airy, light and spacious. Our meals were generous and tasty. A big shout out to Graham who not only provided us with friendly service but gave us some good advice on an upcoming diversion on the the Thames Path that we would have to take the next day. I have no hesitation in recommending the Baskerville Inn if you’re looking for a place to stay or dine in Lower Shiplake - especially so if you are walking the Thames Path.

Henley 2025 - Absolutely fantastic!! Venue is perfectly situated for the Regatta. Breakfast was gorgeous. Staff were amazing. Graham (Bar Manager) and Jill (the General Manager) were brilliant. Very accommodating. Our visit couldn't have gone better. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Rooms are clean and very well maintained, the food is great and reasonably priced, and the staff are all really, really friendly. Thank you for a warm welcome and a lovely stay.

We were stuck for somewhere to stay in the area and managed to get a room here at very short notice. The staff and management were extremely friendly and accommodating. The inn has the atmosphere of a local pub but maintains highly professional at the same time. If I could give 10 stars, I would.

Really good food, delicious beer, well priced, excellent service and atmosphere. It's been a long struggle for the Baskerville over the years but I love what's been done with this place to restore it as a viable and enjoyable pub for the community. Great job. Thank you

Lovely clean modern room . Comfy bed. Great location by the Thames path and in lovely area of Shiplake. Also ate in pub restaurant which was excellent as well. Would definitely visit again. In a lovely quiet part of Shiplake and two minutes from little train station.

I have lived in the village of Shiplake for over 40 years and this is quite definitely the best reincarnation of this pub. Refurbished recently. It is considerably improved. Also the food that we had for lunch today was good. Service was quick and efficient. A very pleasant hostelry.
