Unique setting close to the center, tucked away in a little street so you are not bothered by noisy traffic or music from bars. The food is good and staff is very friendly. The manager in specific, Lasitha, was very helpful and guided me very well. The rooms are clean and have a good shower. Be aware of the fact that you can hear kitchen staff and/or other guests from time to time.

Brilliant short stay at bbq hub Ella! Rooms were spotless and very quirky - staff literally could not do enough for you! They even drove us to the station when our driver didn’t turn up! Completely free of charge! Thanks for a lovely friendly stay - would definitely recommend

We spent three nights at BBQ HUB Ella in October. Me, my wife and our 1.5 year old son. The location of the hotel is great, you can reach all the important points in Ella very quickly. We would particularly like to highlight the manager and the team, who were incredibly friendly and committed. They helped us with everything, from tips on places to visit to organizing tuk-tuks and cabs. The breakfast was also delicious and you can tell that the team really goes the extra mile. The rooms were a little small for us with two large suitcases and a buggy. But certainly sufficient for travelers with less luggage. Overall, we had a very good time and would like to thank the team for their efforts.

We just stayed the one night as was nearer to railway station for our early train . Staff were very helpful and friendly - especially one of the female staff who was extremely helpful when our uber to the station didn’t turn up and we were in a bit of a panic - she took us in her Tuk tuk for no extra charge. Would highly recommend!

Such a great stay!!!! We booked the room last minute and we never regret…. The hostel is so simple but the hospitality from everyone is beyond compare…. The room is cozy the breakfast is nice and the people are all friendly and helpful!!!! Big thanks to the team,….Lasitha, Kavindu, Ridmika, Imesha, Abeykon you all are amazing!!!!! You added to the great experience we had in this hotel…made the stay more easy and relaxing….

We recently stayed at a hotel in Ella and had a wonderful experience. The room was impeccably clean and comfortable, making for a relaxing stay. The staff members Lasitha, Kavindhu, Ridmika, Imesha, and Abeykoon were incredibly humble and attentive, ensuring all my needs were met. Their warm hospitality truly enhanced my visit. Highly recommend this lovely place!

Nice quirky rooms and bathroom, very helpful staff who took our suitcases up the stairs. We had a family room which is definitely on the small side but perfectly ok for a couple of nights. During the night we could hear groups of people chatting loudly but it wasn’t too much of a problem for us. On the plus side it’s a very good location for town, the AC worked very well and we could watch BBC!

H?tel très bien situé, proche du centre ville à recommander +++. Les repas sont excellents et très copieux. Cuisine variée qui change des menus asiatiques.Le must : une équipe adorable, compétente et très attentionnée. Nous y retournerons sans hésitation.?? Merci à tous

Zwei Tage Stopp in Ella, dafür ein ideales Ziel. Sehr ruhig und trotzdem zentral gelegen, vom Trubel in ella bekommt man nichts mit. Als Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen Richtung Little Adams Peak oder Nine Arches Bridge super gelegen. Frühstück lecker, zum Diner findet man in Ella immer eine Adresse

The pro’s: - Staff all very friendly and kind, helpful with carrying luggage up the stairs, nice welcome drink - Location is very convenient for Ella town, five min walk to main street and lots of shops on the way for waters/ supplies etc - Good strong WiFi and A/C in the room - Quiet at night allowing for two good nights’ sleep - Hot water in the shower (although sometimes a little too hot!!) - Breakfast was plentiful, good omelettes, french toast, waffles, fruit, juice, tea/ coffee. Quality of coffee better than other hotels in Sri Lanka but still not barista level! - They very kindly gave us a free transfer to the train station in their (large) tuktuk which fit all of our luggage! The con’s: - The room we stayed in (I think standard double) was very small. We had some larger pieces of luggage and had to rearrange the room to make space to have them both open. Very little floor space, only have a bedside locker on one side - The bedding was stained and torn in places, making it feel shabby and old. The towels were of similar quality - thin and very old, faded white/ grey colour, not very inviting to use - The bathroom had very limited surface space/ hooks to place toiletries or bags. Even to hang towels there was one bar which just about fits one bath towel but it’s almost hanging above the toilet. Toilet roll holder fitting very loose and fell off repeatedly when using it. - The main spotlight in the entrance way to the room was not working when we arrived and the room is already quite dark so we asked them to fix it. The staff member seemed a little confused as to why we needed this fixed when the other lights were working, but it was the only light for the wardrobe/ mirror/ where had laid our luggage out. In fairness, they fixed it right away when we asked them to. - At night there was no-one at the desk when we wanted to ask questions about the breakfast time (as we hadn’t been told during check-in and it wasn’t written down anywhere). The place felt like a ghost town and there was not a hint of any security. Sri Lanka is pretty safe but I still think it would be nice to have someone on the desk just to keep an eye on things and also to help guests if they need anything
