The Big Easy is incredibly chilled. We’d been keen to come here for years after finding it on TripAdvisor a long time ago, but we’d never managed to find our way here until now. Me, my wife and adult daughter barely left the resort - aside from the 10-minute walk to the very well stocked and well priced convenience store and chemist - and spent most of our time on the beach under an umbrella; swimming, reading, snoozing or getting a beachside massage. Noodeng and Del (sisters) are generous hosts and fine cooks who will whip up anything for you seemingly at any time. Thai and western cuisine is both excellent. Paul is a lovely man who you will bump into every day in the beautifully designed (by him) teak bistro area and he’s always up for a chat! Rooms are basic but more than comfortable and a good place to hang out after a long session on the beach and our room was equipped with tea/coffee facilities, a fridge and aircon. Other reviewers have mentioned sand flies and it is worth taking the recommended precautions to avoid being bitten (generally the application of insect repellent and or coconut oil, which is readily available on the island). This is by far the best location on Koh Mak, a truly stunning view from the bungalow. We really enjoyed our stay here - three nights was just right for us. Paul was super helpful, answering all of my questions before we arrived (and after!) and also arranged all transportation for us. Nothing was too much trouble. His wife was very friendly and made lovely breakfasts! This is the place to go if you really want to get away from it all. I highly recommend it. The island is very quiet and peaceful. We had a good experience at Yoga Koh Mak and also at Koh Mak divers.

The food is so good and with the restaurant right there on the beach. Small wooden houses with everything you need to get grounded and calm, including a hammock on the balcony. And the staff makes this place a second home. The placement is perfect for a relaxing stay at Koh Mak.

Our stay at Big Easy was so relaxing! We loved our bungalow home. Our bungalow was immaculate, quaint and it had such a private porch complete with a refrigerator! The views are spectacular! The property is secluded, but just a quick walk to town. Although the property, bungalow, gorgeous beach, and lovely restaurant were incredible, it was the kindness of the staff that truly made our stay unforgettable. The precious staff meticulously care for the property and treat guests with incredible warmth. We felt sad to say goodbye, but know we will return!

Very fine place. Lovely beach. Remote place but nice. Sandflies - yes, but coco-oil does the trick. Very pleasent staff and much helpfull. A litle lack of maintenance in the bungalows, but the owner has been sick, which also explains the closure of the kitchen at 1800 hours. But Clay Pot restaurant with the same owner is a marvelous place close by.

I only used the restaurant but I didn't stay there. Thao was the friendliest person I met during my trip on Ko Kut and Koh Mak. She was so funny and bubbly! It was a delight to go there just to have her talk to you and take your order. The food is very good, it's right on the beach and the prices are very good too. A definite go!

We’ll set up wooden bungalows with AC and not too hard mattresses, lots of space between the bungalows, so you don’t bother each other. One of the view places they maintain the beach as well and rake the sand for sand flies every morning, The family running this place is very friendly and helpful. The food is also great. Many people came over from their resort to eat over here. The big easy is the last resort on this beach, a 5 minute walk away from “down town”. We stayed for a week, unfortunately had to look for another bungalow for the second week as we decided to stay on Kho Mak. We checked out about every other resort on this island, but can only recommend the big easy.
