We found Black Bamboo on a whim...thankfully! Our initial Airbnb wasn't as expected. This place was everything we wanted and more...without bugs ?? The rooms are small but thoughtfully laid out. The feel is intimate since there are only a few rooms and the grounds are well cared for. The windows open up and there are screens which is important to me. The host is friendly and present on the grounds with her lovely husband and children. The other guests were polite in shared areas, pool and kitchenette. The location is on an unfinished road but it wasn't anything our rented bikes couldn't handle. It is close to the main road, the beach, food, bike rental, and town. You can hear howlers in the morning so that was neat. I felt very safe coming and going with secure premises. The wifi was reliable. The pool was small but charming. The plus was a laundry service included in the stay. If I go back to Peurto Viejo, this will absolutely be my choice to stay.

The B&B has 4 rooms only so it’s quiet and peaceful. The rooms were great and just like the pictures. The owners are super friendly and very helpful. The kitchen facilities are complete and very convenient to make your own breakfast and any other meal. The hotel is well-situated as it’s away from the hustle and bustle, but an easy walk to the town and beaches. We had a great stay.

Great accommodation close to the centre of Puerto Viejo. The rooms were clean, and well-equipped and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Also the free laundry service was extremely appreciated! The owners were incredibly friendly and the local tips for restaurants, taxis and guides were spot on. There is a great bakery close by for breakfast and supermarkets for anything else you might need. Would recommend!

This is an excellent place to stay and the owners are really nice, friendly and chatty with good recommendations of places to visit and places to eat. We had one of the downstairs rooms for 4 nights which was great as we were next to the pool and kitchen area. The rooms are compact but well designed with comfortable beds, a good shower and a fridge. One bonus is that they provide free laundry service which was quick and efficient. There are only 4 rooms here so it was nice and peaceful and it was lovely either sitting out on our wee balcony or at the side of the swimming pool and it was so refreshing to have a swim and cool down as the weather was very warm. Our wee boy loved the family dog and the owners were really caring and helpful when our wee boy had a fall beside the swimming pool, giving us an ice pack to use. We would highly recommend a stay at Black Bamboo.

Lovely place with lovely hosts. Tonet and Nadia are kind and helpful and go out of their way to ensure that you are comfortable in every way. It was the kind of place that you don't mind even spending the whole day at...honestly there were times when we hesitated to go to the beach as we didn't want to miss out on time away from the hotel. It's got great proximity to the town and at the same time tucked away on a quiet street far from the noise. Oh, and if you like paella, you must try the one they make. It was deeeelish! I could go on and on because we were truly sad to leave after our stay there and look forward to going back one day, soon I hope :)

Das Zimmer, die Sauberkeit, der Pool! Alles supergut!!! Das Hotel ist nicht weit vom Zentrum und doch an einem ruhigen Ort. Ich konnte mich super erholen und fühlte mich sehr gut aufgehoben. Vielleicht ist die Küche etwas weniger fantastisch, aber ich kann es nur allen empfehlen !
