Camilla was an outstanding host and went out of her way to make our stay an amazing experience. We felt like we were with family! The lavish breakfast was a wonderful surprise and a great way to start a day! We loved the paintings and beautiful rooms, great conversations and stories about the house. A truly unforgettable experience, everything is exceptional! Accommodation, hospitality, breakfast - especially breakfast, not only delicious but sees you through until at least teatime! Camilla is the best host you will ever come across and her recommendations for whatever you what to do are absolutely on point. The ambience is welcoming, relaxing and sumptuous, highly recommended. Would definitely stay here again.

Breitner house e’ una casa di lusso con 2 sole suite eleganti e dotate di tutti i comfort arredate con gusto e mobili di pregio. La padrona di casa Camilla e’ una persona meravigliosa e un’ottima cuoca che prepara colazioni imperiali nella sala di pranzo al primo piano, sempre disponibile per ogni consiglio e suggerimento su cosa fare in città. Una sistemazione ideale per chi ama avere ogni confort, riservatezza, lusso e molto spazio personale. La zona è ben servita dai mezzi pubblici con la fermata del tram a pochi metri.

I recently stayed at The Breitner House, a small establishment known for its exceptional service from the owner. After booking, Camilla, the owner, promptly emailed me to ensure a smooth arrival. This charming house is located in the art and literature district and has a rich history, once being the workplace of two famous Dutch painters in the 19th century.
The room was spacious and classically decorated, with a very comfortable bed and a clean, well-maintained bathroom. The highlight of the stay was Camilla's outstanding service, especially her breakfasts. Each morning, she prepared a fresh, surprise menu that was both exceptional in quality and taste. It's worth noting that you shouldn't leave early for a tour without enjoying her breakfast, as good food takes time to cook.
Our room was thoroughly cleaned every day, and when time allowed, Camilla shared detailed stories about the house's history. This house is highly recommended, though it may not be suitable for seniors due to the numerous steps and steep stairs.

We had a most enjoyable stay at Breitner House! It was the highlight of this trip to Amsterdam (which is saying quite a lot). Camilla is a charming hostess! She proudly told us the history of the house, and served a sumptuous, delicious, and beautifully appointed full breakfast. (She thoughtfully accommodated our dietary restrictions.) The suite was “as pictured” with art-filled walls, beautiful fabrics, and interesting accoutrements. Centrally located for connecting to public transportation, the bedroom was quiet with a comfortable bed. The Breitner House deserves it very high rating. We would definitely stay there again!

I cannot explain the experience you get while staying at the Breitner house. It is one of the most beautiful homes in Amsterdam. The way it is furnished and the history in the art and decorative pieces is awe-inspiring. The champagne breakfast is such a treat and the owners are such sweethearts. Overall, I cannot recommend this place enough. Such a beautiful stay.

What a wonderful experience with a wonderful host in such a historically elegant and charming home! Camilla is such an elegant and entertaining hostess with a fascinating personal history. Her art collection alone is worth the price and then there are the extravagant rooms and breakfast. The location is very convenient for public transportation as well as walking. The park across the street is beautiful and historically important (becomes clear once you visit the Rijks Museum). The rooms are well-appointed and decorated. It is like living in a historical mansion. The entry can be challenging and definitely not recommended for those who have mobility challenges. The stairs are narrow and steep—you must climb up and then back down even for the first floor (but there is a “hidden” way to get your luggage into the lower suite without navigating stairs). The breakfasts are opulent extravagant affairs fit for royalty. More food than can be humanly consumed—but fortunately, nothing goes to waste. We consider ourselves so fortunate to have experienced this B&B and hope to return before Camilla’s eventual retirement.

Camilla was an amazing host! She made us feel right at home and truly works to perfect every detail of the guest experience. Her artistic touch is evident throughout the entire stay. The Isaac Isra?ls room is breathtaking and had everything we needed. To top it off, Camilla prepares the most delicious, beautiful, and thoughtful breakfasts! Thank you so much, Camilla!
