Staying at Cade Ventu is an extraordinary experience, with spectacular views and a gorgeous, relaxing setting, high above the tourist hell of Vernazza. Our room was spacious, with a fully updated bathroom, and the breakfasts on the terrace were a treat. We had dinner in the small restaurant both nights -- best dining experience we had in the Cinque Terre (Eliana is a wonderful chef, with everything freshly prepared to order). If you don't have a car (as we didn't), you can easily catch the little local bus that goes up & down the hill to Vernazza (quite an experience!), but be aware, its schedule is fairly limited. There's also no such thing as a taxi if you get stranded. But, if you plan accordingly, this isn't a problem. Our stay at Cade Ventu was the most memorable part of our entire trip -- magical.

Cade Ventu is a very unique place. From the moment we walked into our room we knew we had made the right choice. We stayed in Maestrale. It was beautiful and immaculately clean! There was 3 of us, my husband, son and myself. We had our own huge separate bedroom and our sons bed was off the kitchen. The kitchen was beautiful and well equipped with everything we needed. The best part of the whole place was our huge terrace that overlooked the Mediterranean and Cornelia. We watched sunset every night! It was so peaceful and quiet. We had our coffee out there every morning and wine at night. We loved spending time out there as a family and our son loved looking up at the stars which were so amazingly bright from that vantage point. Our host Yasi who met us when we arrived took care of us all through our stay, he gave us his cell number when we met after telling us everything we needed to know for our stay and he responded promptly whenever I texted him with any questions or concerns. Now to why I didn’t give it 5 stars, 1st reason, it is remote but that is why it’s so beautiful, you don’t get that down in the towns. We didn’t have a car, although Cadè Ventu did recommend having one. I was getting mixed recommendations from people. My itinerary planner and tour guide had said having a car in Cinque Terre is not a good idea because it is difficult to drive and park especially in Vernazza which does not even allow cars. They recommended the Cinque Terre Card which you have to get anyway to get on some trails and it also gives you access to the busses and train. So we did that and had a chauffeur take us to and from the airport which was and hour and a half away. We flew into Genoa airport. While at Cadè Ventu we either took the bus that stops down the street a bit from Cadè Ventu and goes to Vernazza but it has a limited time schedule, the last bus back from Vernazza to Cade Ventu was at 4:45 so that’s early to have to leave, you can’t even stay for dinner. And it takes about 25-40 minutes depending on the route it takes and how many stops it has to make. The quickest we got to Vernazza was in a taxi, it took 13 minutes. And the taxi picks you up and drops you off closer to Cadè Ventu than the bus. It cost 30 Euros each way. If you drive yourself to Vernazza it would probably take about that long depending on how many cars are on the road at the time, we noticed it took longer when there were a lot of cars coming the opposite direction because sometimes 2 cars can’t fit going both ways so one has to back up and all that takes time. So yes you can probably get to Vernazza in 10 minutes but it is very unlikely because that would be in absolute ideal conditions. But definitely driving a car or taxi is quicker than that bus. We did both and opted for the taxi more often. And we also had scheduled tours that picked us up right at Cadè Ventu. One more thing about having a car, if you do drive to Vernazza you have to park in a parking lot about a 10 minute wal

Staff went out of their way to help make our stay great. Beautiful views, quiet location, nice to get away from the crowd. We used the bus to get to/from Vernazza without issue, just needed to work with the fixed bus schedule. We either had early dinner in town then caught the last 7:00pm bus or had dinner at Cade Ventu at 7:30pm. If traveling by train, it is important to coordinate your train arrival and departure times with bus schedule as other transportation options are limited.

This was my 3rd visit to Cinque Terre and by far, the absolute best stay I've had! We had a family of 4 so we opted for the "Flat Maestrale" - was very spacious and the views were heavenly. Nice private balcony. €400 for 2 nights, with a delightful breakfast. The restaurant has a limited menu, but everything we had was very much enjoyed - fresh! Again, beautiful views and you avoid the crowded, overpriced restaurants. We had a car - plenty of parking - short drive to Vernazza - pay for parking and a 15'ish minute walk to town. The stay was made even better with the assistance of the host, Yasi - he was so helpful, and friendly. We really enjoyed conversing with him and appreciated his kindness - thank you, Yasi! (I hope I have his name right) This is an opportunity you won't want to miss!

We enjoyed our stay at Cade Ventu in July together with our two sons. The hosts are incredibly friendly & helpful! Our room was large and very clean. The route to the B&B was a bit challenging as we're not used to driving in the mountains (make sure to check the route beforehand), but the views & sunsets at this place are amazing! The Cinque Terre villages are quite busy in the summer, so we were happy that we chose to have dinner at the B&B, which was much more relaxing. Food served at dinner was delicious and quality of the wine was excellent. Also breakfast was very good. Highly recommend if you plan to visit Cinque Terre.
