I live now close by and come regularly to the Café de Patan for a nepali tea (with milk) or masala tea and relax, sitting on the rooftop and gazing to the Durbar Square and its temples and architecture. Simply let myself dive into history brought up by the uncountable woodcarving Elements. You can even buy a spare sigarette from the waiters and enjoy this Moment!

If you are planning to just hop for a night in Patan, Kathmandu, this is the place to be! The room with attached bathroom is available at cheap rates and the Guest House is located in the midst of Durbar square. The restaurant with the guest house is popular in the area. No Intercom or Wifi but a comfortable night's sleep.

Clean room. Hot water. Nepalese food and right prices. We can feel that this place is there since long time for clients as they know how to be kind. You are in the middle of wonderful Patan Durbar Square. Unesco heritage and comparable to renaissance beauties.. you really dip into medieval and sustainable word. As europeans we should just admire, respect and learn.

Its a pity....The BEST location in Patan, beautiful old charming house, wonderful staff, 3rd generation family owner who proudly wants to continue running the place, good reputation and mentioned in all guide books etc etc..... But the truth is - the place really needs a proper renovation...its old old old. And even old would be okey if you would take care of the place. Wash all the windows, clean and varnish all the furniture, change the old curtains to new ones, make sure the bedlinen is clean and not full of stains, make the waterheater/hot shower work please, scrub all the tiles in the bathrooms, change the carpets....take out all the dust from everywhere..These are all small things that can be made cheaply with only manpower, no need to spend tons of money. This wonderful place needs a proper facelift, back to its past glory !!! It got all the potential. Owners are really really nice people with good english and communication.
