A magical holiday shared with the three generations of our family. Two weeks stay with comfortable rooms overlooking the tranquil Bay of Kini. Generous breakfasts served outdoors on the veranda ( weather permitting). No pressure on time. Additional facilities of an infinity swimming pool with plenty of sunloungers, ideal to spend some time after a day of activity. The use of a gas barbeque solved the evening meal challenge as the beachside tavernas were closing at the end of a busy season. Nothing prove too much for the in-house team; facilitating car and scooter hire. Highly recommend. Such good value.

We recently stayed with our toddler for 5 nights. Such a lovely family run hotel, with wonderful views, beautiful rooms and a very generous breakfast provided each day! Rooms house a basic kitchenette which is sufficient for cooking meals. The pool is also great although can be windy, if it’s a windy day. It’s a 10 minute walk from Kini beach which has many restaurants and a mini market there. It is a steep walk back so with our child we chose to hire a car. Elsa and Babis were extremely kind and hospitable, particularly to our daughter who is a very busy toddler! Elsa was even able to arrange a babysitter one night for us. The reception area of the hotel is one of the best I’ve seen- it has a book library in many different languages, a kids play table and more. If we’re back in Syros we would love to stay!

We had a truly wonderful stay at Captain’s in Syros. From the moment we arrived, Elsa and her lovely family welcomed us with warmth and genuine smiles, making us feel right at home. Each morning, we were treated to delicious homemade breakfasts served on the beautiful sea-view terrace — a perfect start to the day. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, offering everything we needed for a relaxing stay. This place has something truly special: not only the breathtaking location, but the warmth and care of the people who run it. Highly recommended!

Struttura eccellente . Posizione spettacolare con vista sulla baia di Kini . Leggermente fuori dal centro abitato ma raggiungo le in 10 minuti in discesa e 15 in salita . Camere pulitissime , pulite ogni giorno con cambio frequente di lenzuola e biancheria da bagno . Terrazza spettacolare . Angolo cottura minimale ma sufficiente . Ottima climatizzazione . Gradevole la piscina seppure non molto ampia . Ma soprattutto voglio segnalare la gentilezza dei proprietari che oltre a preparare ottime e abbondanti colazioni piene di prodotti freschi e locali , si sono adoperati per ogni richiesta , dal noleggio di uno scooter alle incorrono sulle spiagge . Grazie per la calda ospitalità . Lo segnalo vivamente

We just loved this gorgeous hotel, located above the resort, and it was our favourite hotel during our island hopping adventure. The staff were just so friendly and really did go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful stay. The breakfast was just outstanding, beautiful local products and even yummy homemade jams too. The breakfast was so huge that it really did set us up for the day, and to sit and look at that pretty view really did make the whole experience very special. We stayed in a studio room and it was just so charming, with our very own private patio with more stunning views. The bed was so comfortable and although small the bathroom was quite adequate and always lots of hot water, and a proper shower cubicle with a curtain too :-) We knew that it was located outside the resort of Kini and enjoyed the 10 min walk into the resort every evening, coming back took a little longer as there are 90 steps, with a section of uphill climb, but there’s street lights all the way and it really wasn’t that bad, plus it helped work off some of the gorgeous food we had eaten in the local tavernas. We loved the island of Syros and hired a car through the hotel to discover more ….we will be back to Syros and will definitely stay at the Captains again.

This is a very nice hotel with some fabulous views over Kini bay. Our room was large with a small kitchen ( very importantly with a fridge) double balcony and nice views. To describe this as a ‘boutique hotel’ is stretching things a bit but it does have a lovely ‘home made’ charm. Staff are very helpful and will arrange taxi’s etc. and also do evening meals on request. The views from the breakfast area and pool are superb. The bus to Kini and Ermopoulous stops outside which is really useful as the walk back from Kini is long and steep! Not for the infirm. Babis does a great breakfast but a little more variety would be good.

Wat een heerlijke plek is dit! Elk appartement heeft een terras of balkon, daarnaast zijn er bij de receptie zowel binnen als buiten zitjes. Buiten op het terras (of bij slecht weer binnen) wordt hier ontbeten... En wat een ontbijt! Wauw! heerlijke lokale lekkernijen, eitje, yoghurt, vers fruit, sap, huisgemaakte jam... geen buffet maar alles persoonlijk geserveerd met een glimlach. Bij Captain's draait alles om service en persoonlijke aandacht. Super aardige eigenaren en personeel die altijd klaarstaan. We hebben 10 heerlijke dagen gehad met Captain's als thuisbasis. Syros zelf is klein en heb je zo gezien, maar door de verschillende strandjes, baaitjes en restaurants was 10 dagen echt genieten.

We only got to spend 2 nights here, though I wish it was more. Such a lovely place with lovely owners just a couple of minutes away from the best beach in Syros. Very cozy room, with a spectacular view from the terrace, comfortable bed, and the whole atmosphere is just perfect. The interior design was smart and elegant and the place was always kept tidy and clean.

We loved our stay at Captains. All the staff were incredibly helpful, including going above and beyond to help us with the logistics of day trips. There was a useful laundry service which was very easy to request. Breakfast was delicious and they kindly arranged gluten free bed for one of us. The studio was lovely and our terrace with a sea view was a particular treat. Our room was clean, bright and comfortable. The common areas were lovely and had a great view. The pool was very refreshing too. The position in Kini is great, there is lots to do here and a short journey into Ermoupoli. As other reviews note, there is a short but steep walk, but this was fine for us. Syros is a lovely island to visit, lots to do, gorgeous coast and not too busy especially in September. We will be returning!!
