The room was nice and the breakfast excellent but the whole experience was stressful. I booked through their booking service and paid €180 or €150 for the room and €30 for two breakfasts. This was a mistake. A week before, for family reasons I wanted to cancel or change the booking so I sent my request by email. There was no reply. After a few days I rang the phone number of the Chambres d'H?tes. I stated my situation to the woman who replied. She said that she would "discuss it with her colleagues" and ring me back. She did NOT ring me. I had to go ahead with the booking. I had given my time of arrival as between 4 and 5. We arrived c4 30 and rang the bell. There was no answer. I rang the phone number and the woman who replied was inside the guest house. She was pleasant but told us that the room would not be ready for 40 mins. We opted to wait and were given a nice cup of coffee. When the room was ready I asked about breakfast times. She said that it was not included as we had not requested it. I told her that I had PAID for it. She looked at my receipt and said that here was nothing to say that I had paid for breakfast. When she checked her phone she had received a text saying that we were to get breakfast.....no apology! All in all, the whole experience was stressful and I would not stay here again. The prices are too high for a place with no reception and abysmal communication. And a checkout at 11 and checkin at 5 30 is unreasonable.

We spent two wonderful weeks in the Purple Suite. The suite opens onto a charming garden, a lovely peaceful oasis to relax in. The suite is spacious and the bathroom also. The robes are especially welcome. The location is superb near the lively market, many excellent restaurants and a 3 minute walk to the frequent free shuttle that operates every fifteen minutes around the core of La Rochelle. For anyone with mobility issues our suite was perfect as there are just two steps at the entrance. La Rochelle was a delight, with its relaxed atmosphere and ever courteous and friendly people. We are especially grateful to Céline at Eden Ouest,a wonderful person to meet, so welcoming and kind. Highly recommended.

Fantastic French townhouse in excellent location. Beautiful breakfast in the authentic dining room. Rooms very spacious and stylishly decorated. Bathrooms amazing with wooden bath and steam room. Highly recommended.

We spent two blissful nights at Eden Ouest recently, and stayed in the Yellow Ochre suite with its lush bathtub and private hamman. Eden Quest is a contemporary boutique hotel in a beautiful old french building that has been perfectly restored, situated right in the heart of town of La Rochelle, close to the old market, and on short walking distance from the lovely old port. Breakfast was superb and delivered with more than just a personal touch by Céline, who runs day to day affairs at the hotel. Eden Ouest is a high-end place, and full of character. We’ll certainly return when visiting La Rochelle in the future.

The rooms are large and very comfortable. I loved sitting on my terrace with coffee in the morning - even when it rained since it was covered. Highly recommended.

Chambre d hotes en plein centre ville. De très beaux espaces et une chambre confortable ayant pour vu un jardin arboré dans lequel vous pourrez prendre le petit déjeuner, ce qui permet de déconnecter. Pour le PDJ de très bons produits frais. Accueil agréable et chaleureux, le tout accompagné de très bons conseils pour une découverte de la ville et de la région.

La chambre d'h?tes (la Rouille) que nous avions réservée était agréable avec une grande salle de bain et un petit coin salon. Un petit balcon terrasse dominant un joli jardin intimiste ou sont servi les petits déjeuners quand le temps le permet. A deux pas du marché central et des rues commer?antes et touristiques cette adresse est vraiment parfaite pour rayonner à pied dans tout La Rochelle.

Tucked away in the back streets of La Rochelle by the market is this dreamy bed and breakfast. With it’s individually coloured rooms, it’s tranquil garden and it’s lovely staff, it is the perfect place to stay. Our room (ochre I think) even had a steam room and a small patio area! Breakfast in the shady garden was delicious with local cheese, meat, yogurt, fruit juice and breads. We would come back and stay in a heartbeat.
