This is a wonderful place to stay, so peaceful after busy cities, with lovely views over the grounds to the river. where a delicious breakfast was elegantly served by an attentive staff after a good night's rest. We felt as if we were on safari! The rooms are comfortablly appointed with traditional Indian furniture , with modern en suite bathrooms. We were a group of seven, and we all wished we could have stayed longer than just one night, and have vowed to return one day.

cute place with lovely rooms which are done in style. In Orcha i would say it is one of better places available. The beds are super comfortable. The breakfast setup they have is great. lunch and dinner or even a cup of tea is slightly more expensive than what you would get in this part of the world. Madhurji who is the owner of the place was super friendly and gave us good tips and planned our 1 night stay in Orcha well. I would definitely stay there but eat outside.

Heel fijn hotel met zeer originele inrichting, alles zeer netjes. Goede bedden, zeer goede douche. Lekker diner (aanradere) en ontbijt. Hele vriendelijke eigenaar waarmee we een leuke babbel hadden. Zeer vriendelijk personeel, een absolute aanrader.

Very bad place, this hotel is robish, the room are not confortable, the bathroom are old and dirty. The food is bad and it is better not to eat there. In fact the best is not to go to this hotel, go to Janshi at the lemmon tree it is great. Orchha is very interesting, one of the best place in India to visit. Jahanguir fort is marvelous.

- Out of the zone. Nothing like this experience and may never will. Brilliant location, out of the huzz buzz. So soothing that, will be back very soon. May be in rainy season to see its beauty at peak. - food- proper village food, cooked and prepared with love and same passion. Nothing fussy but still outstanding. It's like prepared from roots ( which is actually correct). Never eaten such a brilliant chutney and salad. Yummy taste. - service- lovely people to have around with such a beautiful property. Always smilling, always corportaing, ready for the service. All of them specially Jagdeesh ji and Shiv ji. - rating 9/10 - one I left for the arrangement which will happen soon near river. Would like to enjoy a candle night dinner near Shore of River

Liked · A traditionally appointed, sustainably built kothi located at a placid bend of the Betwa river where you can literally hear and feel nature around you. The rooms are beautifully designed with a heartwarming degree of personalisation and attention to traditional detail, but equally comfortable and modern in amenities such as wifi, and hot water. And to top it all, the staff are are super attentive, the food fabulous and the surroundings, especially the historical town of Orchha are simply unforgettable. Disliked · The infrequent disturbance of the tranquility by smells and loud music being played in neighbouring properties due to ongoing weddings.

We had a very nice time at Chandera Kothi overseeing the lake and the aesthetics were just right . Everything about this property seemed very comforting and the rooms were tastefully done. We were welcomed by the hosts with warm smiles and heartfelt conversations. Mr. Madhur Bundela, the owner himself , personally made sure that we feel at home. The food was customized as per our requirement and we were glad as it was delicious. If you’re looking for a comfortable, quiet, serene place to stay with then this is a great fit.

Our visit to the Chandera Kothi can only be described as “Magical.” Whatever we saw in pics online did not justify the actual experience. Imagine living in a quaint, beautiful also comfortable and luxurious home overlooking a flowing river, with forests around. Sipping tea under the Neem tree spotting beautiful birds and their calls. Walking down a natural path leading up to the river (crossing on the way, what you imagine must be where the evening party is hosted) dipping your toes in the fresh water of Betwa river. The sounds and breeze outside, the peace within. Back in the dining hall, you can’t miss the careful attention to detail. Everything used has been up-cycled. From the heavy doors, to the paintings on the wall. The light switches remind you of your visits to your grandparents house in childhood. And then comes the food. I am not exaggerating when I say, you can’t have eaten this before. The flavours, the spices, vegetables, fish and the meats. The only thought in your mind is - who is cooking this heavenly stuff, served as if you are dining with Royalty. And when you can’t eat any more, it’s all cleared out and Dessert gets served. And you are thinking, I am not a Dessert person, but I will eat this stuff. Back in the garden, the mud path, the river, the views…. If you haven’t visited Chandera Kothi, and let Madhur & Sangita host you for two nights, you have to add this activity on your bucket list now. Do it now. I promise you will come back and not stop writing reviews for them. It’s a trip you take to your own childhood, playing under the neem tree in the garden outside, next to the river. You will love me for recommending this.

Amazing place. It's calm and beautiful, by the river. The rooms are beautiful with old indian furnitures, very charming. The diner we had in the dining room was absolutly delicious, such as the breakfast. And it's beautiful to walk down the river.

Chandera Kothi is one of the few properties actually on the Betwa river. You wake up to a gorgeous sunrise over the river, with an excellent cup of chai. Life doesn't get better! The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, very clean and well maintained. The attention to detail is sweet, nostalgic and just so lovely. Can't say enough good things about the hosts. Sanghita is an excellent cook and the most attentive host you will find. Madhur is equally caring and generous (and also great fun!). They have encyclopedic knowledge of the area and wonderful recommendations. Will definitely stay with them again, should we find ourselves in Orchha. Loved the place, by the way. Orchha will surprise you. It certainly did us!
