This was our first visit on the West Coast of South Africa and we couldn’t have been happier with the warm welcoming from our hosts at beautiful Chartwell House in Port Owen Marina area, Melanie and Jeff. They did everything in their power to make our journey memorable and fun, helping us find the good sights to visit, the best massage and serving up a sumptuous breakfast to energize us for a day out. Through them we found out about a great boat trip down the Berg river, the home of 250 species of birds, the richest bird wildlife on the West Coast of Africa. While in the area try a visit to restaurant Leeto at Strandloper Ocean Boutique hotel (book in advance). Magnificent and an outstanding location on the beach in Paternoster.
