Location signage is poor and there is no reception. You are met outside and escorted by foot down a 120m trek of steep, muddy, slippery and uneven ground to the tent on a wooden platform. This trip is both difficult and dangerous even if you have good mobility, and is an absolute nightmare in the rain or when lugging your gear up and down. Be warned! The outside kitchen is basically equipped for cooking with one electric burner and a bbq (not under cover) with a microwave inside and no oven. The bathroom is a 10 step walk outside the tent with no cover, and the smell inside is extremely unpleasant due to the long drop toilet within which is putrid. Inside the tent is spacious, nicely decorated and relatively clean, apart from the duvet and pillow slips which were musty smelling. Board games and movies were supplied, although the movie projector is broken (as other visitors have noted). This is definitely not 4* accommodation and was not our idea of a pleasant time.

We stayed in the chalet after a wonderful walk at Lamington National Park The chalet is only a short 15 mins drive away. The chalet was very clean and comfortable with spectacular views from the veranda Our host was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. The birds in the aviaries on site were lovely to look at as were the peacocks wandering around. We were also surprised to find a home cooked pasta dinner in the fridge on arrival. We are looking forward to returning.
