We, a family of five adults spent a long weekend at this guest accommodation in beautiful Padstow. A quaint little house almost at the top of a hill just minutes from the harbour. Our host Wendy was warm and welcoming and showed us to the three rooms that we occupied and explained all that we needed to know

Don’t usually leave reviews but I was so upset to see that Cyntwell had received 1 star reviews that I felt compelled to dust off the keyboard and change my ways. My husband and I have had the pleasure of staying with Wendy since 2000, our first stay was when she was Manager of a neighbouring B&B and we enjoyed many holidays there regularly over the years. We have since stayed at Cyntwell on and off ever since Wendy started up at Cyntwell, our most recent on 26th & 27th March 2022 and if I could give more than 5 stars I would. Wendy is a lovely, kind, helpful beyond her call of duty host. Nothing is too much trouble for her, she’s helpful but not in your face, which may not suit everyone but it suits us just fine. Wendy knows Padstow and surrounding areas like the back of her hand. She is a true local so anything you want to know she is on it. Cyntwell is ALWAYS spotless, cosy, welcoming & comfortable. So they don’t so breakfast anymore, so what, there are plenty of places in the village to get a piece of toast or full English and it clearly states this on the website. Wendy provides a list of places you can visit for breakfast including opening times and contact numbers. You can bring food back, not to your room, which is perfectly understandable, (again it does mention this on the website) I wouldn’t eat fish and chips in my bedroom at home so wouldn’t expect to be able do it in someone else’s home. You are allocated a table in what used to be the breakfast room (there were plenty of chairs) and there is a handy fridge to store milk/booze which was a massive plus for us. The property is old, and so yes the stairs are narrow and steep in places, the floors are a bit wonky and some ceilings are a bit low but it’s not a Premier Inn, it’s beautiful just as it is. Again this is all pointed out on the website. I am a very light sleeper but I can say I always sleep very well at Cyntwell, Yes the chruch bells do ring out but what a lovely sound, better than listening to cars, lawn mowers strimmers & leaf blowers, the sound of suburbia on a weekend. If you don’t fancy it pop the ear plugs in and dream of home. Cyntwell is brilliantly placed and a very short walk to the various pubs & shops in the village and beautiful walks in every direction. If you are planning your stay I would strongly recommend you book ahead for any lunch / dinner plans you have, gone are the days where you can walk in sit, down and eat, it pays to get organised so you are not left disappointed and hungry. We are looking forward to our next stay at Cyntwell and will keep coming back here as long as we can. Cheers Wendy, you work very hard, times are tough right now so well done you.

I booked a couple of nights at Cyntwell to use as a base when house-hunting. It’s a lovely, charming house which is spotlessly clean. I stayed in Samphire which has 2 single beds. The beds are really comfortable and I slept very well. Tea and coffee facilities were on hand in the room and Wendy offered fresh milk for drinks too. She made sure I knew the area and even provided a useful list of places for breakfast. The house is a few moments walk from the centre of town making it a great base for exploring Padstow.

We've stayed at Cyntwell many times now and always love it. Spotlessly clean and well maintained and the perfect distance from the busy centre. Beds and linen are top notch. We'll most definitely be back.

Superb guest accommodation. The room we stayed in was so clean and the bed was really comfy. Wendy the landlady is friendly, obliging and made us feel so welcome. All the other rooms that we saw were of the same standard. It couldn't be better situated literally a 2 minute walk to the harbour. Good prices for the area ,definitely book on their own website. It will save you money. We would definitely stay there again.

All perfect. Brilliantly situated for everything Padstow has to offer Wendy very helpful and kind H Bedrooms really comfortable and clean Bathrooms excellent loads of hot water! Shampoos and hairdryer provided Fridge in dining room where one can leave own food All perfect
