Amazing place. Tranquil. Quiet. Large rooms, clean & comfortable. Service was always friendly and with genuine smiles. Food was ok and may have been better if it was simple Sri Lankan fare? and perhaps having a written menu with options for the safari lunch would have been helpful?

Beautiful spot in the nature. The gardens are really very well maintained and a true gem. The rooms are spacious and clean. We stayed here 3 nights and enjoyed it very much. The pool was also very clean. The breakfast was good, western and Sri Lankan dishes, although simple.

This is a very calm and quiet place close to the dam. One boundary of the property ends at a canal, where you can hear the water flowing. A lot of land has been kept clear to provide space for trees between the rooms, creating a habitat for various bird species, including some that are rarely seen. The staff is very helpful. The Operational Manager, Mr. Indula Herath, and his team are always ready to cater to our requirements. I would like to especially mention Ms. Hasanthi and another staff member (Asiri/Udaya, who was not there on the day we departed) for going the extra mile to delight us with our meals. Thank you to the Doola team for making our stay enjoyable!

Absolutely a hidden gem to Udawalawa. Newly built and professional staff.! from the booking till the departure smooth handeling and guided very friendly. The GM Mr Padmal is talented on his job. what I love about here the location and landscape planing is admirable. Breathtaking garden in a such small scaleed are and kids play area and the pool are well maintained. they have 2 entrance old and new so don't get confused on the reception. we booked the family room next to the lake wich is calm and quite nothing bothers us, slept well with my 5yrs old kid. Room is clean and cousy with all the necessary amenities. each and every staff was very concerned on the guests and very talkative also friendly ????. never let us felt left alone even on our meals there was this helpfull young men Udara and Navod. thank you for the kitchen staff and chef for the lovely cousins. I just loved the lake fish dish so fresh and perfect prepared on my request thank you so much chef????. Thanks again Mr Padmal for your kind & friendly guester wich stand out our experience with Doola. It was so kind of you for the gift so we will remember this lovely place. Yes we will definitely come back again and recommend your beautiful hotel to all the travelers and my friends.

The hotel is situated in a very spacious greenish land. All cottages are designed to maximise the privacy. The Staff is well attentive and friendly. If you like to have a relaxing place to stay Doola is a good choice. The rates are relatively better when compared to the other hotels in the area.

Me and my husband are stayed at the? Doola River Edge Udawalawa for one night on long weekend, January 2025. I select this hotel after go through their site photos and reviews of guests who are visited earlier to this doola. All the positive comments and photos are correct ??. I realized that everything was true and highly recommend this Doola for your vacation. The staff were so welcoming us very friendly and did the quick checking. The hotel is beautifully maintained, nice pool, lovely environment. Our room is a pool view and the room was spacious, clean and had all the facilities. The buffet Dinner and Breakfast were very tasty including the lunch. It is a wonderful place to see a group of people who spend time with the guests very friendly and enthusiastically? All the staff are truly amazing and beautiful, and they work so hard to make our holiday an amazing experience. Thank you very much the management and from the reception staff to cleaning? staff who looked after us from the moment we arrived till departure. everything was beyond expectations.??? And, Many thanks for the memorable gift that you given to me at our departure. Thanks once again to the family of Doola and Love you all the support given to us make our vacation very comfortable.

Die Lage zum nahegelegenen Nationalpark ist toll. Auch die ganze Anlage und die Zimmer sind sehr gepflegt und sauber. Zum Check In gab es einen Willkommensdrink, das Personal wirkte aber sehr hektisch, sodass wir kaum Zeit hatten, die Drinks auszutrinken. Unserem Fahrer wurde es untersagt, im Hotel zu übernachten, sodass er woanders unterkommen musste. Auch durfte er nicht mit uns zu Abend essen. Es war Hauptsaison und trotzdem waren nur zwei weitere Familien anwesend. Das Personal beim Abendessen war trotz der wenigen Tische sehr überfordert, unaufmerksam und langsam, es gab Verst?ndigungsprobleme, da nur ein Bruchteil der Kellner Englisch spricht. Es gibt grunds?tzlich keinen Alkohol im Hotel, sodass unser Fahrer so lieb war und extra mit uns in der Stadt noch Alkohol gekauft hat. Die Portionen beim Abendessen waren sehr mickrig, das Frühstück hingegen war sehr gut. In der Dusche gab es nur kaltes Wasser. Fazit: Für eine Nacht ist das Hotel in Ordnung, vor allem, wenn man morgens früh den Nationalpark besuchen m?chte.

This hotel is an absolute gem. The garden is beautiful and is full of wildlife - birds, chipmunks, monitor lizard to name but a few. The river runs alongside and has more wildlife - kingfishers etc. The staff could not be more helpful and informative and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and the room was very comfortable. It was lovely to sit on the covered area outside our room and the swimming pool was close by and was very clean and a good size. The restaurant is on a mezzanine deck and gives good views of the garden and river, and consequently wildlife. The hotel organised jeeps for our visits to Udawalewa which is close by and worth more than one visit. I would recommend more than one night here - we had two and had an evening then a morning Safari and it was well worth it. Fantastic!

The garden was nice and well maintained. The rooms were good and large including the wash rooms. The charge for the room and breakfast was at a less rate than mormal. We had a swim in the swimming pool. Body washing water before swimming came as in a spout. The restaurant is in the furst floor which makes the people to enjoy the beautiful garden. Our rooms too were in the upstairs. It is worth the money spent. Although the hotel name has "river edge" , the river is little far.

In the middle of nature, beautiful courtyard, great swimming pool, very nice restaurant, great breakfast and dinner, very big rooms, crystal clean! Close to the park entry We only had the regret that we staid only one day! :)
