What a fabulous place this is, it has to be one of the most relaxing and lovely places that you can stay in Katelios. The apartment, pool area and bar are all spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Soft music plays around the pool and you are surrounded by nature. Quite blissful. The food served at the pool bar is quite exceptional, really tasty and freshly cooked by the lovely staff there, all of whom are wonderful. The food and drinks are very reasonably priced too, particularly given the quality. We attended the barbeque evening and we enjoyed it very, very much, we highly recommend that you attend if given the chance. Nikos, who works there from early morning till late at night, 7 days per week, often in 38 degrees heat is a lovely, quiet, well mannered, helpful and polite young man. We found him to be nothing other than charming the entire time that we were there, he was just wonderful. In a nutshell, this place is fantastic, we loved it and we have every intention of returning, hopefully next year.

This was our third stay here at the Philoxenia and we love it. Beautiful views, away from any type of hustle and bustle and just a short 10 minute walk down a lane to the village with all its lovely beachfront tavernas. The apartments are lovely and clean and just what you need for a relaxing holiday with very comfy beds, efficient air con and a very nice shower/bathroom. Nikos and his staff are helpful serving drinks and tasty food all day every day in the very relaxing area around the pool also where a daily self serve breakfast is available. All in all a great place to stay if you like a quiet and beautiful place to stay. We will most definitely be returning.

The truth. On arrival there was no warm welcome at reception. We felt we were an inconvenience.( other people said the same)We were greeted with the room key slammed on the table ,asked if wanted air con and a safe then told how much tax it would be.Not shown where room was,not helped with lugging cases up to top floor.Breakfast was AWFUL. Toast( 2 toaters)sachet of 2jams,yogurt,squeeze bottle of honey complete with wasps ,fruit chopped in a bowl looked days old.Grey scrambled egg under a metal lid.Tea,coffee,milk.Few slices of ham and cheese.Bowl of shrivelled grapes. One lady brought her own lidl nuts to put on yogurt!!! Nice rooms, except ours had ants in kitchen area daily!! Lovely bedrooms, shower fabulous snd cleaned and new towels every other day.Pool area brilliant but.... Won't be going back due to miserable staff and diabolical breakfast oh and the light was broken plus daily ant problem!

I removed my review because I thought I was being a bit harsh on the front of house/bar staff. First of all the place is clean, tidy and well laid out and maintained well by the cleaning staff. The food at the bar is good and reasonably priced however the cocktails are a bit "thin." Breakfast is pretty bland, limited and repetitive however you can walk to the sea front and get what you like there. As many have said the arrival and greeting from Nikos is very "robotic" giving the impression he can't be bothered, similar was shown by the breakfast staff and as such a let down giving the Greek folk are usually quite gregarious folk. A smile or two would have given this place five dots!

Spent a week here. The appartments are clean, tidy and comfortable. A bit of a walk from the beach at night, take a torch, but during the day this helps with the chilled atmosphere of the place. Would recommend, however unlike the friendly and smiling cleaners, the staff serving behind the bar seem less than interactive when a kalimara(good morning) is spoke in the morning and even a grunt would have been welcome.???? Still, hospitality can be a bit difficult, if it's not your bag, for a vocation?

Landed at the hotel at 11.30pm not a very friendly welcome all they were interested about was the cost of the aircon and safe €105 for 10 days! There are no lifts and the young guy didn’t even offer to take are luggage or show us to are room. The first couple of mornings no hot water for a shower which we have had before two years ago, after pestering we had hot water till are last day surprise surprise. The hotel is nice and clean it’s just the staff are not very engaging and the atmosphere is dull, not even any music round the pool On are last day I ask could we use a couple of towels later as check out is 10am and we leave at 6.35pm the answer was by the lady at the bar NO the towels are for the hotel. On reflection I feel that all three people just don’t want to be there. That’s why at night the there is no people eat at the hotel, check out trip advisor for eating places

This hotel and katelios itself is a hidden gem, the staff were really friendly and a special mention to Nicos behind the bar! The rooms are basic but have everything you need and the beds are really comfy! The pool area is great and really clean as is the bar area! If you are looking for a place to go and forget about the everyday life and simply relax then this is the place to go! We have already been looking to return soon, thank you for a wonderful week and we hope to be back again soon!

Fancied Philoxenia for its semi rural location. Last time we stayed in Katelios we were off the main road at the top into the village and it was noisy & dusty. The Philoxenia is tucked away up a side road, slight incline but easy. I could walk to the 'Alitis' bar & supermarkets in 11 minutes. We asked for a garden level room and were kindly given 101 next to the pool bar. Noise was never an issue... Fabulous pool, lovely lunches, pints of cold KEO and two social cats that visited us frequently.

Fantastic small hotel in a quiet fishing village. We spent 10 nights relaxing here in June 2025, plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas no matter what time of day. Pool bar food was great, a multitude of cocktail options are also available served directly to your sun lounger. Maid service daily, changing linen and towels every 2/3 days. Breakfast was adequate, we had ideally wanted to come self catering but found this deal better than most self catering options in the area and chose to eat in for breakfast every day, only hot option is scrambled eggs with ham, plenty restaurants on the front serving breakfast if you did want more options. The walk to the tavernas and shops takes around 10/15mins and is all down hill from the hotel. Coming back up is an incline which can be difficult if carrying water from the shops in the main heat of the day. McMarket will deliver here free of charge, ideal for water. We chose this hotel due to wanting a relaxing holiday, if you like to explore a car is needed, the public bus only runs once a day. Overall a brilliant family ran hotel which we will return to.

Just back from a fabulous week at this hotel, our 2nd visit and can't wait to return next year. Thanks to Nicos, Peggy and Angela for a lovely time and the best cheese pies (according to my husband) The rooms all have lovely views and kept very clean as is the and pool area. Plenty of sunbeds and areas for shade if you need it.
