Fabulous staff with well maintained grounds and hotel. As mentioned by other reviewers, dinner is only ok. I would eat elsewhere as it’s not quite a ‘fine dining experience’… Scallop starter was not good. Sticky toffee pudding was awful, kids described it as ‘like pancakes’. Breakfast however is excellent and the local staff there are great. Few things to note: there are two cats roaming the hotel. One I saw in the bedroom as I was walking by. I witnessed another jump on a table after a guest had left and lick the milk out of a jug. We were charged e40 to have our 6 year old sleep in the same bed as us as she was considered an ‘extra person’. The wine by the glass at dinner was from the day before. I could tell it was off and the girl was nice enough to admit it was ‘from yesterday, I think’. Not acceptable. They charged us e40 for two portions of chicken nuggets and chips which we had actually sent back. They added 5% onto the check out bill ‘for service charge for the staff’… then asked if they should take it off. In short, the setting and staff are lovely but check your bill and cross your fingers a cat wasn’t on your pillow before you got in your bed!

Pros: We chose this hotel for a Valentine's getaway on February 14th, specifically for its small, romantic feel, and it did not disappoint. The decor and ambience throughout the property were absolutely splendid—it is a truly beautiful and intimate setting. Every member of the staff was incredibly friendly and professional, making us feel well-cared for from the moment we arrived. Cons: While the atmosphere was perfect, the dining was a bit hit-and-miss for the price point. During our fine dining dinner, my wife’s ribeye was unfortunately too tough to cut. Additionally, we found the Irish breakfast lacked flavour and felt a bit incomplete; the addition of something simple like beans would have been a welcome touch.

Lovely hotel, gorgeous rooms, best beds ever! Staff courteous, attentive and professional. Breakfast has really great variety. Dinner overall good experience, staff were again very nice. I thought choices of main courses might have been a bit more innovative but probably they’ll rotate/change. Really lovely option for a restorative, relaxing breakaway.

We stopped at Gregans Castle for lunch based on a recommendation from a friend in the UK. What a beautiful location! Lunch in the bar was wonderful and the service could not have been better and more friendly. The hotel accommodation looked wonderful and we will definitely stay her next time.

Very lovely place and everyone is so nice, no matter where you come from. They make you feel special. Rooms are beautiful, private and clean.

Great experience! Highly recommend to ecerybody that enjoys a cosy, luxurious stay. The staff were truly exceptional — friendly, attentive, and always ready with great local recommendations. Breakfast in the grand dining hall was a highlight, featuring fresh local produce and a wonderfully calm start to the day. Evenings by the fireplace with a glass of wine were pure perfection.

Beautiful , luxurious and cosy hotel. The service was great and all the staff were delightful and nothing was too much trouble. Food was fabulous . My only very small criticism is that would have preferred a duvet rather thank blankets. Would definitely recommend

A special hotel in a beautifully scenic location. Superb food, cosy and relaxed interiors, log fires and beautiful rooms. We loved our stay in this eco friendly hotel with wonderful staff to cater for our every need. We will be back.

This place is a hidden gem. A 20 minute beautiful car ride to Doolin Ferry or Cliffs of Moher visitor center, yet far removed from the hustle of the towns. A quiet oasis with stunning views, daily rainbows, and spectacular meals. If you are looking for a tranquil getaway with excellent accommodations, Gregans Castle is it.
