The comments I add below are of my opinion and experiences encountered, they may not reflect the views that regular users of these studios have. We were greeted very warmly by Helena, taken to our room with some flowers to put in the room. We paid up front for the greek tax of 14€ and the air conditioning which was 93€ which I thought was a bit steep. We stayed in room 6, clean and adequate for our stay. The rooms are in lovely flowered terraces. Cleaning is done daily to a high standard, if you were just using the room as a base then no problem. The bar and pool area are a disappointment. In the week we were there we saw the pool cleaned toward the end of the week, this was driven by necessity as it slowly turned green/cloudy and had a film on the water, it got so bad I wouldn't let my wife swim in it. The bar is run by the rudest person I have ever come across, I could stand at the bar waiting to be served while he was on his phone, he didn't move until his partner prompted him. The chalkboard with the menu on was taken away on the 3rd day of our stay, selection was poor, nothing like as described in the TUI write up. Day 1 the bar ran out of bottled beer, draught only no problem. Day2 ran out of draught, bottled only. The situation was that bad that some of the regular users brought their own drinks, also in the lunch time people ate their own takeaway food at the bar. The barman grunted prices,no conversation, I speak Greek and got nothing from him. Around the pool the chairs were left and were not tidied, no pool cleaning. No rep from Tui visits, I belive if they did they wouldn't advertise it in their holiday catalogue/on line. A lovely owner, place in lovely settings. Holiday spoilt by poorly managed pool and bar area. On day 3 and for the remainder of the week we used Barbara studios which are about 100 yds away. We'll stocked bar, cocktails, variety of foods including breakfast etc. TV area, clean pool and altogether an ideal area for relaxing when you're on holiday. People may argue that it was toward the end of the season, not so, everywhere else was well stocked and local owners were happy to serve. Remember these are my options, I will not be visiting these Studios again. The picture I have added shows the cloudy green pool.

It was all a bit last minute but we booked up without hesitation, then after reading the reviews started to think the worse...we got a great price for the week knowing the weather would be fantastic,we where greeted by Helena who was so welcoming, the rooms are a little dated but clean and tidy with a lovely balcony, pool area and bar was great(not to sure about the barman. seemed to run out of bottled water and beer quite often???)never the less fantastic beach 10 minutes walk, supermarket close by, several restaurants in the area all in walking distance and a bus stop outside to take you to Lassi and Argostoli,in all an 8 out of 10 and will be going back next year,a perfect week in the sun on a budget ????

This was the perfect base for our holiday and everything we hoped for in a traditional, family-run Greek apartment. Helena and her staff were so welcoming and worked tirelessly to make us feel at home, especially with our two children. We’d seen some reviews prior to our holiday mentioning the pool, but during our stay it was cleaned everyday and well maintained. I believe it is an aging filtration system that stuggles with the amount of suncream! The location is ideal—just 10 minutes by taxi from the airport. The village itself has a great selection of restaurants and nearby beaches. The local bus stop is only a few minute’s walk away, making it easy to reach Argostoli or explore the island. We couldn’t have asked for more and would happily return!

Apartments were clean and basic ,you wouldn’t be able to make meals and would not need to as there are lovely restaurants and take aways dotted around the village. Close to the road for the beach and no noise from aircraft as you are 5 minutes from the airport. You can catch a bus for 2€ into the capital . Taxi are 20€ . You can also hire a car from the owners . The downfall of the holiday not enough sun beds and very uncomfortable and broken, parasols all broken and only 3 available. The pool bar was awful no food or drinks menu with unhelpful staff. To be honest I never saw any food preparation and not even an ice cream sold. This is a good base to go and explore the island or if you prefer a short walk to the beach.

Perfect base if you’re happy to entertain yourself with nearby beaches and restaurants. You will need transport to really appreciate the area but taxis, buses and car hire options are plentiful. There is a tax and aircon charge to pay on arrival, but the aircon is superb. Very clean and picturesque. The pool isn’t the best but the surrounding beaches definitely make up for it.

Location wise is perfect. 10 minutes from the airport, close the beaches and some great places to eat nearby. Unfortunately the accommodation isn't the best. Very small for 4 people the kids beds being right under the eaves and my daughter constantly banged her head on them. The bathroom shower didn’t drain and was mouldy, not enough equipment for self catering, no wine glasses. The pool was disgusting! It was green and the one time I went in I was ill on the evening.

On arrival we were greeted by the lovely Helena with a smile. We chatted a little and she offered recommendations for evening dining and we happen to mention we had booked somewhere the following week for our wedding anniversary. Helena then showed us to our room and explained what was what and asked if we wanted aircon for 9 Euros a night (we knew about the additional charge as been to the area before), which we did, and collected the tourist tax. The apartment (16) was quite near to the bar area but far enough not to be disturbed by it, its typical Greek basic accommodation with a bed, shower, kitchenette and seating out front and back to relax in. If you want 5 star luxury then you in the wrong resort/island/country! what we need when we are away is clean, tidy and practical with a bed and shower as we spend as much time as possible outside the room - this was perfect for us and had no complaints or points worth worrying about that would make it any better. The bar area itself could do with a little spruce up as the chairs and tables felt a little sticky but that is the only comment to make. George who runs the bar seems to have been given some stick in other comments but if you actually take the time to stop and chat, say hello when passing or even buy him a drink, then he starts to open up a little. He works long hours and often open until 1 or 2 am - just be kind and say hello and that makes all the difference! Helena's is sat in lovely gardens with a pool that never seemed to be crowded. We didn't use the pool as prefer the beach. The beach is about a 5-8 minute walk away but be aware there are steps down to the beach, but more importantly there are steps UP from the beach! other beaches are available a longer walk, or short drive, away. The beach is lovely with one end having a bar with sunlounges you can hire and a place you can hire paddleboards and a jetski. The other end of the beach (that we prefer) is quieter and less crowded and great for snorkelling as nearer some rocks. Its shallow there and you have to go quite a way out before being out of your depth. The apartments are also near a couple of mini-markets which is great for supplies and a handful of eating establishments within 5 minutes. Will be reviewing them separately but try out Fois, La Calmer, Crazy Georges and Sea Salt whilst you are there. on the morning of our anniversary we were leaving the apartment for brunch and noticed that Helena had left a card and vase of flowers for us by the door from her and her husband Joseph. Such a lovely thought and that really meant a lot to us as it was just a passing comment 6 days prior. We travelled with Tui on a package and the transfer was only about 10 minutes (1 other drop off along way) by small coach. We will definitely be going back to Helena's as we loved the feel/atmosphere, location and facilities were just what we need.

Just got back from Helenas, and I'd give it a solid 4-star rating ?. The last review was pretty spot on, so I wasn't surprised by anything, really. If I say, that the whole experience is a bit ????; you'll understand what I mean and will know what to expect. Overall, it was a decent experience, and I would definitely go again. Definitely check it out if you're in the area! #review #helenas #goodtimes

We went back this year after a great time last year. It was again perfect for us and our likes. Short walks to plenty of restaurants and a few bars. Lovely welcome back from Elena and the staff. Special thanks to George and Maria at the pool bar. 2 great beaches in easy distance and a bus stop right outside the property. Car hire available on site if you prefer. We are definitely planning to return next year.
