Our stay at Holbrook House was wonderful! We stayed 3 nights, it was very clean and comfortable and the innkeepers, Eric & Michelle, were very welcoming. . The full breakfast and baked goods were delicious. It was an easy walk to town too! We would definitely stay here again.
Just spent three nights at Holbrook House. Eric and Mitchell are wonderful and made us feel like family. The rooms were cozy and immaculate. If you are traveling to Bar Harbor you must stay here.
Perfect location…walkable to everything. Quiet, quaint with gracious hosts who have thought of everything! Comfortable beds in beautifully appointed rooms. Breakfasts were 5??
Terrible room! I reserved the Frenchman Bay room based on the photos on the website only to find that the bathroom (2piece) was basically in a closet with the sink being outside next to the door! It was difficult to see this by looking at the photos. Given that the inn was fully booked as was the entire town of Bar Harbor, I had no choice but to endure the less than ideal accommodations. I would not recommend reserving this room. Other than the room the inn was ok- breakfasts were good and it was in a good location several blocks from the downtown.
Really cool place. Owners were awesome. Breakfasts were phenomenal. Walkable into town. Loved our room had a small private deck

Thank you so. much for your kind words about your stay with us. I'm so glad you enjoyed my breakfast each morning, I love to cook for our guests. Hope to see you in the future is your travels bring you back to Bar Harbor.
Following a warm greeting, Eric and Michelle provided us with a wonderful stay at Holbrook House. This is a larger B&B yet Eric was very attentive to each guest especially at breakfast which he made seem effortless. Michelle is a gifted cook and each day she used unique ingredients to create both flavorful and well presented dishes (strawberry stuffed french toast, 3 cheese omelet and fruit cups). Delicious homemade cookies, fresh fruit and ice water with lemon slices were available each afternoon. Both hosts were very informative and helpful. When we decided to stay an extra day, Michelle provided a list of places with vacancies as Holbrook House was full. Parking was plentiful and the waterfront was a short 5 minute walk which eliminated the need to find parking in the busy downtown area. Our room (#9 second floor) was large and the king sized bed was very comfortable. The A/C was quiet and effective. Although we prefer a bathroom in the room, our private bath directly across the hall was spacious and well appointed (we noticed that at least one room had an en-suite bath). We would definitely return and recommend it to others.
We stayed at Holbrook House in the Ash Cottage for 5 nights this summer and absolutely loved our stay here! The location was great - it was close enough to downtown without being right in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. It was SO quiet at night! The breakfasts and afternoon snacks were completely delicious! Definitely make it a point to grab the daily baked goods each afternoon after 3. One of our favorite parts of the inn was the long front porch - every late afternoon before dinner, we'd sit out here watching the world go by. It was also handy for a rainy day to be outdoors without getting wet. As far as the cottage specifically, it was nice having our own space separate from the house with a little porch area as well. The unit was exceptionally clean with a spacious walk-in shower, 2 bedrooms and small sitting area. The only suggestions I have are to put in a couple lamps in the living room - maybe a floor lamp and a tabletop lamp, so that people who don't want the very bright overhead lights on can have softer lighting and not sit in the dark. Also as a heads up, the beds are very comfortable but VERY high. It might be a good idea to include a step stool in the bedrooms. Overall, we absolutely LOVED our stay here and in Bar Harbor in general and I highly recommend Holbrook House.
My wife, daughter, son-in-law, and I returned to stay at Holbrook House after a 12-year absence. As always, a wonderful experience in every way. We all highly recommend this fine establishment.
Great value in quiet rooms in this older renovated bed and breakfast. Our room was small , bed was soft , uncomfortable, and small (not sure it was a queen as advertised) and didn't look anything like brochure photo. Top feature was home cooked elaborate breakfast each morning- although I wish he had better (stronger coffee). Well located a 8 minute walk from town center.
