Room very clean, great breakfast variety. No TV in main room. Shower water cool and once warm went cold very quickly. Lovely warm room and cosy bed.

Holgate was an immediate "break" for us. The staff were friendly and generously helpful. The room was warm, well appointed and the view was charming. The evening menu was well varied and our meals were delicious! It's a great location too - only 60 mins from Melbourne's CBD.

Well located property Lovely staff Carpets should be removed and rooms could do with refurbishing but otherwise priced accordingly

The property was very overpriced for a basic room above a hotel. There was no air conditioning (on a typical summer day, so pretty uncomfortable), no TV in the room (one in the other room), no hair dryer and a flickering bathroom light.

Hi Lynne, thanks for staying. 235/night for a 2 bedroom suite that sleeps 4 with ensuite & continental breakfast is not overpriced. The suite has a TV and there is a fan over each bed & the windows open. The building a renovated gold rush era hotel. We will fix the bathroom light. Thanks for letting us know.

I had a lovely (albeit short) stay in Holgate. The accommodation at Holgate Brewhouse is fabulous. The room was lovely and warm and the bed SUPER comfortable. Everything I needed was there – including lovely breakfast. I had a beautiful meal onsite also, the Rib Eye. OMG it was just divine, and the staff at the bar very knowledgeable in pairing a great Shiraz for me (of which I had several glasses). Honestly, I cannot rave enough about my stay and will definitely be back. My company has another project in Lancefield later this year.

Great stay at a cozy hotel pub in a beautiful town. The in room breakfast supplied was not fancy, but set us up for a great day of exploring woodend. The banana bread was particularly good. The room was clean and spacious, although there's only a room divider provided to separate the bathroom with the shower/bath, so dont be surprised. We didn't need it, but if you're shy or sharing with friends be prepared.

Second time visiting the holgate. This time we returned with friends. We chose the package that included dinner & a beer tasting paddle, as well as accommodation for $300. Great value really. Food was delicious. Beer is great. We also booked a brewery tour which was quite interesting & although it didn’t include samples, you could choose a 4 or 6 pack to takeaway. Rooms were very warm, which was great for a winters night. Our friends room above the bar was very noisy, & they could hear a person next door being sick ( perhaps too many beers!!) plus outside noise. Our room wasn’t too bad. Overall a pleasant weekend away, and a nice change from a night in the city

Thanks for visiting. A couple of the rooms are above the bar but we are not a late night venue. The bar usually closes between 10pm-11pm most nights. Occasionally a bit later on a Friday night. The Brewery Tour is great value! You get to redeem the price of the ticket with takeaway beer!!
