The alps used to be dotted with family-run hotels; they were generally reasonable, well run and clean. At least in Val d'Isere, they are disappearing but I am happy to report that Hotel Bellier very much falls into this category. The staff is attentive and welcoming, the breakfasts are fresh and offer everything you would want and the rooms are well appointed, clean and modern. The location is great, it is a short walk to the slopes but it is also in an area of town that is quiet. My family has stayed here twice over the Christmas break and both experiences have been wonderful.
The staff are the thing that stands out along with a fantastic location. Everyone we dealt with was really friendly and helpful The hotel is very dated and is in need of a big makeover. We had a superior double with bath which was absolutely fine size wise for a ski resort The bathroom would have been fine if it had had a door rather than a curtain and a toilet with a full size lockable door rather than a wooden 2/3 size shutter that couldn’t be shut properly Value wise was ok for the peak New Year week but think it is time for someone to take it on and give it the money and the love to make the most of its staff and location
Perfect location for a few days skiing. 300m for the main lifts and just off the main thoroughfare of Val D’isere. Very friendly staff who were very communicative before arrival and very helpful throughout. Rooms were nice and practical with everything required. Simple and tasty breakfast to setup for day skiing. Good kit room for skis and boots. Very reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again.

This is a really lovely family-run hotel, very well situated for the lifts and town. My daughter and I booked at the last minute (changed resorts due to weather conditions) and they could not have been more welcoming.

Lovely family runs hotel. Very friendly and professional staff. Spacious and clean room. Very close to the city center, bus stop, restaurant and supermarket. Short distance walk to the ski station. Very convenient place to stay without breaking the bank. If you arrived during the French “vacances scolaires” week, You can see the fireworks from the balcony. Would love to go back for next season ??
Liked: Well located for alpine skiers. Comfortable room. Pleasing decor. Good beds, pillows and linens. Good little bathroom and shower. Very good breakfast in dining room with views of the mountains. Nice lounge space. Convenient ski room. Polite staff. Disliked: There is no forced air ventilation in this hotel — not even in the bathroom. To get fresh air I needed to open the balcony door. But this sometimes (depending on hour of the day and wind direction) allowed smoke into the room from a neighboring property's wood fire.
