After reading the many reviews on Trip Advisor, we decided to stay at the hotel. I contacted the hotel to book directly & was able to add an additional night to my stay prior to arriving with Wolfgang the new owner. The communication prior to arriving was mainly thru WhatsApp or email. We stayed in Room 5 which is near the main reception, with a view of the manicured garden & has 2 large beds which we requested, bath with shower, air conditioning, small refrigerator, ceiling fan, safe & wardrobe. When you enter the gate to the property there are about 10 steps to manage with a small ramp to wheel your luggage up the incline to the open air reception. Overall our stay was good but not great. The breakfast served from 8:30am- 10am was huge & delicious. They were gladly able to accommodate my request for no cheese on the eggs. One day crepes were served instead of eggs. The fresh local fruit & fresh juice was so good each morning. One day we did a sunrise tour & returned after breakfast was over. At checkin, they didn't mention any option for an earlier time or take away option if an early tour was taking place which would have been nice. We stayed 5 nights, arriving on Friday, picked up by a driver at the airport & greeted with leis. We appreciated being able to check in early. The owner transported us back to the airport which is less than 10 minutes drive from the hotel. There is a mini market across the street, a few restaurants & lots of shopping opportunities steps away from the hotel. We found everything we needed within walking distance. We had pre arranged tours prior to arrival with a local guide but heard the owner providing suggestions to other guests who were looking for things to do during their stay. At breakfast, he even offered to lend a large brimmed hat to a guest who came without one that had mentioned he got sunburnt that day. While we enjoyed our stay, there were definitely areas for improvement. We had to ask for a key to operate the in room safe as the keypad didn't work. The Air conditioner was a window unit that was not on when we entered the room. It took hours for the room to cool down everyday. The staff would turn off the AC after they cleaned the room each day, so we always returned to a stifling hot room after a day of touring which was very unpleasant. The ceiling fan in the room did not work. The bathroom was stocked with 1 small tube of shampoo, no conditioner or lotion, some liquid hand soap & small bars of soap. No wash cloths are provided. The wand attachment in the shower was broken. There was no hot water until 5pm each day so if you returned from touring before then you got a cold shower. On the day of the sunrise tour, there was no hot water at 5am either. The towels were crunchy & smelled bad. One day we asked Wolfgang the owner for another tube of shampoo but never received it. Inside a tropical garden, in the center of the town, several bungalows with rooms for different number of pax, even for families. Clean and comfortable. The central palapa works as a restaurant or meeting zone with a decent WiFi . Breakfasts are gorgeous with natural juices and healthy food and a touch of charm by our host. Highly recommended

5/5 – Lovely stay. I Just spent 3 perfect nights at Tauraa Hotel and couldn’t fault it. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, the staff are genuinely friendly, and the location is quiet yet convenient. The grounds were filled with beautiful plants and decorations.
The standout, without question, was the chef-inspired breakfast each morning – beautifully presented, fresh, creative dishes that changed daily and tasted incredible

We spent 5 nights at the Hotel Taura’a. Wolfgang (the new owner) picked my wife and I up at the airport and greeted us with beautiful leis. He provided a quick windshield tour on the way back to the hotel, which is located steps off the main street in Hanga Roa. We stayed in room #10 which is a large double room (one queen size bed and two single beds). In early December the nights were cool, so we never needed to use the air conditioning, just slept with the screened windows open. Room service was provided daily. Breakfast is included in your rate, and it was different every day and very tasty. Though we did not need help, Wolfgang provided support to other guests who were looking for tours and places of interest. He and his staff Andrea and Rosa, go out of their way to make your stay memorable. WiFi was spotty in the room, but very good in the main dining area. I highly recommend staying at the Hotel Taura’a.

Hot water is very sporadic. If you are lucky, you can shower in the middle of the day. Morning and night will all depend on the availability. And the availability is very limited.

Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Wolfgang ist sehr sympathisch und hilft bei allen Angelegenheiten.
Wir hatten Zimmer Nummer 1. Ein ger?umiges, einfach eingerichtetes Zimmer.
Das Bett ist hervorragend. Es hat einen Kühlschrank und einen Safe. Leider funktionierte der Deckenventilator nicht. Dies hat uns aber nicht gest?rt.
Die Zimmer sind sehr ringh?rig. Man h?rt die H?hne kr?hen und die anderen G?ste im Nachbarzimmer.
Trotzdem war es nachts sehr ruhig und wir haben immer sehr gut geschlafen.
Das Frühstück ist ein Erlebnis. Jeden Tag gibt's was Neues.
Wir k?nnen das Hotel w?rmstens empfehlen. Wir fühlten uns sehr gut aufgehoben.

Wolf, the owner of the hotel, is a wonderful host and goes above and beyond to help his guests. The service of him and his staff is what made this hotel experience unforgettable. The location is in the middle of the main street and very convenient. Breakfast every morning is fresh and "prepared with love". Highly recommend the hotel to everyone!

We loved staying at Taura'a! The location is super convenient to walk into the heart of town, and there is a really good restaurant two doors down. The hotel was clean, the staff were so friendly, and the breakfast... oh, the breakfast! Fresh juice, delicious bread and cheese and eggs, everything was marvelous. It was the perfect hotel for our time on Rapa Nui, highly recommend!
