At first glance the cottage looked amazing but the more time you spend there the more problems we noticed. No screens on any windows or doors meant we couldn't open anything to let in fresh air without also letting in the bugs. The first night we killed around 70 spiders, and ended up choking on bug spray. The shower room is a little too small as it was hard to move without hitting into something, additionally, the shower door had to be handled carefully as they almost fell out of the tracks every time you opened or closed them. The 'self serve breakfast from 4am' i felt was mis-leading too. Instead of a service being provided from 4am, there was breakfast items in the fridge for us to cook ourselves. Don't get me wrong, it was a nice touch, however i just felt mis-lead by the advertising. While it had its ups and downs the staff were lovely and any issues we had they were happy to help at any time of day. It was also nice to get away from the city noise and not too far from a lot of amazing things to do!

Hunchy Hideaway nestled 2 minutes outside of Montville is stunning and a wonderful place to stay. The cottages are immaculate and the attention to detail by the owners is lovely. They left breakfast options for us to use and the surrounds are nice and quiet and the sounds of the rainforest make you feel so relaxed. Close to the surrounds of Montville and Maleny and so many places to explore. Highly recommend Hunchy Hideaway if you are after a romantic getaway with your loved one.

Very romantic very beautiful place to stay. Everything you need in 1 location. Got to meet the local possums on our verandah it was a extra bonus Jack was extremely accommodating nothing was to hard for him to help with.. replies to any questions was answered extremely fast and with no hassle. We would love to stay again. Thank you Jai and Charlene

On arrival at the accommodation, there was no wifi in the cabin, there were no hangers in the wardrobe, cobweb inside and outside the cabin. Unlikely to stay here again.

Hi Karen, thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay. Being nestled in the rainforest unfortunately it is not possible to have a Wi-Fi connection in the cottages although not through a lack of trying. Thank you for pointing out the spiderwebs, looks like the spiders have been busy. I'm gonna get onto those today.

Very disappointed. Have stayed in this cottage (Fig Tree) on previous occasions. However this time things were not the same. The fireplace had not been set up with timber. In fact there was no timber in the cottage at all. Had to cart it from the timber supply near the Office. There was no proper kindling (e.g. pine strips). Was told just to pick up debris from outside. The steps leading onto the front porch have been removed making approx 2/3 of the porch unusable. The end railing was collapsing. There was only 1 candle holder in the entire cottage and that had a used candle in it. Previously there were approx 8 candles scattered around as one would expect in a romantic cottage. There were 3 used coffee pods in the coffee machine - obviously had not been cleaned out. Cobwebs on the ceiling above the bed (actually hanging down). The exhaust fan in the toilet was completely covered in dust. Website says that upon arrival there would be home-made scones for afternoon tea, chocolates and roses. There were 4 chocolates on the bed, no roses or any other type of flowers and upon check-in-in was told that they no longer provide the scones however there was cake instead. This consisted of 3 very small what looked like shop bought slices. See attached photos of cottage.

Wow.... what a amazing experience staying in the rainforest in gumnut cottage. It was so peaceful and relaxing to just unwind listening to the birds and waterfall close by. The owners were very accommodating, well present, very clean cabin. It was a wonderful getaway for both myself and partner to unwind. Would highly recommend for couples for a sneaky get away. So close and convent to montville with a 5min drive.

A beautiful spot in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland to rest and relax. Thanks Jack for the excellent tips about fabulous local restaurants, 5 minutes from the spectacular Kondallila Falls, a wonderful walk
