Great hotel

We stayed 3 nights in the Telford room. It was beautifully decorated and the bathroom has a great shower and tub. It has everything you need. The bed was comfortable and every day our mini fridge was restocked. Linette and Dermot were so welcoming and kind. When my husband hadn’t slept well in days because of jet lag, Linette brought him some lavender oil and made sure we had camomile tea. Dermot sat down with us the first day with a map giving us great suggestions on where to visit. Breakfast was delicious with good options and there is plenty of parking. I ended up celebrating my birthday here and they were both so kind in getting me a little gift and making me some carrot cake. Would highly recommend this B&B. The location is just a short drive into town but also many places you can just walk to.

It would be hard for me to overstate how impressed we were with our stay here, both in terms of the high quality and cleanliness of the accommodation and the warmth of the welcome we received from our hosts, Dermott and Linette. Our “room” was in fact more of a suite made up of a separate bedroom, bathroom and lounge, with an outdoor decked area overlooking the lovely garden and offering up a view of the Caledonian Canal. It was furnished to a really high standard and the bed, in particular, was incredibly comfortable. We particularly appreciated the fridge stocked up with a range of complimentary water, milk and soft drinks, as well as a good choice of teas and coffees (including a cafetière and ground coffee, as well as instant). Breakfast (pre-ordered the night before) was delicious, including fresh-fruit, cereals, yoghurt, toast and a range of cooked options. We stayed for three nights and found it to be really well located for both walking into Inverness city centre (approx 15 mins) and for driving out to the wider area. There is plenty of on-site parking. If you don’t fancy a walk into the city, there’s a lovely traditional pub a short walk along the canal which also serves food. We didn’t eat there, but enjoyed a pint! What really makes this place is the very genuine and warm welcome we received from the owners, Dermott and Linette, during our stay. They couldn’t have been more friendly, engaging and helpful. We’ll definitely stay here when we’re next in Inverness and a very happy to recommend Inverness House as an excellent place to stay.

Inverness House is in a wonderful spot right on the canal. It’s a short drive to the heart of the town, and a very short walk from other attractions. The hosts were very accommodating, gave great travel advice, and provided and excellent breakfast. The rooms were large and have a view of the canal. I’d highly recommend the Inverness House for anyone staying in the area.

A wonderful and clean place hosted by a energetic, gracious couple. Situated next to several walking and bike paths. A short 2 mile walk from the center of Inverness. Our hosts Linette and Dermot provided invaluable local knowledge on places to see. My wife and I Dr much enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended. We would certainly return to stay here if our travels take us back to this wonderful city.

My wife and I stayed at Inverness House for 3 nights during an eleven night UK vacation. This was our favorite place of the entire trip! We loved the vibe of Inverness and the managable size of the city. Downtown was an easy walk, made more enjoyable by the views along the river. Plenty to do nearby if walking or easy day trips with a car. Free parking is on-site, something we learned to appreciate from some of our other overnight stays. Linette and Dermot helped us to plan our days and provided some wonderful restaurant suggestions. Restaurants do fill quickly, so heed their advice to make reservations. Communication was excellent from the time of making our reservation, prior to arrival, and upon checking in. Dermot made it possible for me to go on a local cycling loop of about 20 miles. It was one of the prettiest routes I've ever cycled and I didn't want to stop exploring. This would be a great place to stay for those on a more bicycle based vacation. Our room was spacious and modern, with a nice area for sitting and relaxing with morning coffee from the in-room french press. Lovely view of the grounds from the room. The bathroom was sizeable, with separate tub and shower. The bed was large and comfortable. I had traditional Scottish breakfast nearly everyday of our trip, and this was the best! Fresh cooked and delicious but with other options if the Scottish breakfast isn't your thing. We felt welcomed and at home in this wonderful B&B. When (not if) we go back, Inverness House is where we'll stay! Thanks again to our wonderful hosts!
