This is a no frills place BUT it had a great vibe, lush food and amazing views. If you want to disconnect and relax, this is the place. The walk up and down the beach was so relaxing. For the price, I would stay here for a month! Cons are that the train tracks are right near the main building, so not great if you are a light sleeper. Ask for a room nearer the beach.

Stayed here after completing a 15 day tour of Sri Lanka, looking for somewhere to rest and recuperate. The Janus did exactly that! We arrived by train at Aluthgama station and had managed to message to get a lift from the station. We were met on the platform (despite the late arrival of the train!) by a relative of the owner who took us in his tutktuk to the hotel. Arrived late afternoon, given a fruit juice before being shown to our room. We booked the superior sea view; given the middle room upstairs. Large room, double bed, nicely decorated with flower petals. Decent sized shower room which was fitted with a modern shower. There is plenty of storage space in the room and towels provided. The balcony is large with chairs, a table and a towel rail. Amazing view; first of the pool and the courtyard of the hotel then of the sea/beach. fabulous sunsets! There is a restaurant at the end on the beach, we had dinner here the first night. You can get a beer and food and sit on the sand. There is a pool too. For nights two and three of our stay we were the only people in the hotel but it got quite busy after that so i would suggest booking in advance. Lots of different types of room so probably something for every budget. Breakfast was served in the restaurant area with sea views; coffee/tea, fruit, eggs how you would like them and loads of toast. You are about 4kms out of Bentota centre (not an easy walk on the main road in the heat!) where there is a Food City supermarket and atm. However, it is not difficult to get a tuktuk on the side of the road. While we were there it was about 700R a journey though it may be more in high season. Similarly when we went for dinner of a night time it was not difficult to get transport to where we wanted to go. The hotel also arranged an excellent car to the airport at a good price. It was reliable in terms of turning up and the length of the journey - they were happy to give us advice on how much time to leave. Spent a very happy week here just resting!

Picture staying right by a glorious pristine beach, waves rolling in, surrounded by lush tropical gardens, you’re having breakfast of the most delicious fresh fruits all locally grown, then lunch or dinner on the sand under a coconut palm leaf canopy, later you might dive into a clean sky blue ocean, or an infinity pool if you prefer, then when the day is done you might take a lazy walk under the setting sun before retreating to your beachside bungalow that evokes the feel of sea breezes and driftwood. It might conjure up images of Bali or coastal Thailand, but this is Sri Lanka, at Janu’s Paradise Rest. While some places offer class, Janu’s offers charm and plenty of it, in part owing to its size, not too big, not too small. Everyone at Janu’s, from the owner to the manager to the chef and support teams greet you with warmth and work tirelessly to make your stay a memorable one. Accommodation is perfect beach accommodation, clean, comfortable and unpretentious, while the restaurant menu has a good selection of local and international-styled meals. Fish is a specialty, try the mullet, it’s superb. Janu’s is designed for you to relax, kick off your shoes, leave the world behind, and it delivers all round, at a very affordable price. Very cozy beach restaurant, we have spent 10 days in hotel nearby, so had lunch/dinner ar Janus for maube 5 or 6 times. Everytime food was tasty, prices reasonable and staff so friendly, that even my children counted them as friends. Have to admint they have adjusted some meals for children at our request. If you stay nearor will be passing by - I highly recomend to visit this place for meal or just drink with nice view to the ocean.

Nous séjournons actuellement à pour 2 nuits dans cet établissement bien entretenu et surtout très calme . ?a fait du bien de venir se reposer loin des zones balnéaires plus dans le sud . Le personnels est très sympathique et fait de son mieux pour que nous soyons satisfaits. De même pour le patron et son frère je crois qui sont des gens qui se préoccupent du bien être de leurs h?tes .nous avons eu un soucis avec une odeur de chambre mais qui a été résolue en 2min par une femme à qui je remercie encore si elle voit le post . Nous partirons demain sur Colombo avec encore un très beau souvenir du Sri Lanka et de leur l’hospitalité . ?? Franck De Freitas et Liliana de Castro

Situé quelques km au sud de Bentota l'h?tel est plein de charme et de tranquilité et directement sur la plage. La plage est bien moins fréquenté qu'à Bentota ce qui rend l'endroit plus agréable. On y mange très très bien, les pieds dans le sable et le personnel est d'une infinie prévenance et gentillesse. Un must !!! Cédric et Sophie

Our best experience in Bentota,very good curry,cozy place and friendly service. Definitelly our recommendation for dinner with sea view. Prices are lower than in other resturants and the food taste better!

Отдыхали в октябре, было максимально тихо и уеденно как мы и хотели, но потом заскучали, были дожди. Непривычно доверить кому-то свои драгоценные дни отпуска, тем более отпуска с 6 месячным ребенком, но Jeewana нас покорил и его тук-тук, отличный тайм-менеджмент, внимании к мелочам и баланс в идеальных впечатлениях, (начиная с ресторана, магазинов, экскурсий, заканчивая даже черепашковым инкубатором и слоном в любое время как захотим) сэкономили много денег. Люди там невозможно добрые, открытые, живущие какой-то другой жизнью. Вот ты вернуться хоть на часок попить кофе с видом на бескрайний бушующий океан. Будете в Temple tree наберите ему будет приятно помочь +94 77 825 9617 и попробуйте местную еду в Janus paradis

Прекрасный отель с прекрасным видом, с самым вкусным и уютным ресторанчиком, с самым вежливым и обслуживший персоналом и самым гостеприимным хозяином Janus!Отдыхали вместе с сестрой в середине октября, безумно счастливы, что нашли это уютное место на огромном и красивом пляже Бентоты. Несмотря на сезон дождей, мы остались безумно довольны начиная от сервиса, заканчивая самым вежливым и очень гостеприимным хозяином этог отеля!Рекомендую обязательно на ужин попробовать самую вкусную рыбку с фирменным чесночным соусом и такие же креветки . По соотношению цены и качества отеля оценка на 10+++Благодарим за гостеприимство, спасибо за подарочки перед нашим отъездом на память!Обязательно вернёмся снова!

Amazing small resort right on the beach , the food is very delicious and generous size ,we chose the Seaview room which met all our needs. Janus and his staff were very friendly and gave us such an amazing experience. The pool is lovely and clean.
