Guest：Fantastic stay here. We stayed in the St Hilda room. Located near in the centre of town. Everything was good. Very clean Lovely room Great shower and bath. Very good communication with hosts. Would recommend. And the cafe downstairs is excellent too.
Guest：Lovely rooms, very quirky and definitely different, room got really hot even with radiator turned off, bed very squeaky and soft, ended up with back ache, pillows kept getting wedged between bed and wall, due to gap. Windows, opaque, understandable, due to being overlooked, but felt really claustrophobic. On saying this, love the idea of no contact, and would stay again but in better room

Guest：We popped in for breakfast and wow,the place is full of local history,and my daughter enjoyed reading about St hilda. The breakfast was lovely but I was disappointed with the sausage,it tasted mealy and like it was full of bread crumbs. Prices good,and we enjoyed everything else.
Guest：The Black Jewel hotel is absolutely gorgeous! We loved the fact you could choose a room based on a folklore and the folklore guide in the room was a brilliant touch showing the attention to detail. The room was a perfect location and clean. The bathroom / shower was amazing and the bed was one of the comfiest we’ve slept in. The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars like I wanted, was because the room was extremely stuffy! We were provided with a small fan which did help for nighttime but the room became more uncomfortable with it off and with the windows open. Also, the seagulls are very active around 4am in the morning but the hotel kindly provided us with ear plugs which helped a lot. We also did try to have breakfast in the cafe below about 9:30 but it was at capacity so we went across the road to Becketts which was lovely and very welcoming. I would highly recommend this hotel and will be staying again in the future.
