The level of hospitality shown by Kinigi Cottage and its supportive staff members will leave an indelible mark on you as not only a traveler but as a human being. Wonderful suggestions and great communication. You can feel the love poured into breakfast, lunch and dinner. This place allows you to immerse yourself into the Rwandan countryside while you prepare to Trek Gorillas, locate Golden Monkeys or just use for a quick layover while on to the next adventure. It’s a perfect location for access to Volcano Park. Make sure to request Eric as your driver. Eric made sure we successfully made it from Kigali, the Genocide Musuem, to Kinigi and back, even joining us on a trek one morning. He is a wealth of knowledge on Rwandan history and will not rest until you have a great experience. He compliments the entire package Kinigi offers.

Kinigi cottage was perhaps our favourite stay on our trip in Rwanda. It is puzzling that it has so few reviews and was not full when we went, we would highly recommend it! Room: Our bedroom was huge, en suite, with a terrace. It was nicely decorated and felt clean. If you want, you can have your food brought to you on the terrace. Main living area: This is in the style of an open plan lounge / kitchen. It was a nice place to relax by the fireplace. The food is at a communal large table. Food: All of our food was very good quality which we really enjoyed Staff: Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Overall, we thought this was a very fairly priced, very homely lovely place to stay, we would highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again if we were to return.

Tout était PARFAIT. L’emplacement à proximité de tout. Les chambres sont spacieuses & propres, la literie est très bonne. Les repas (nous les avons tous testé) sont très bons et copieux ! Le staff est ADORABLE, aux petits soins jusqu’au moindre détail. Le manager est très attentionné, et nous avons passé dans sa guesthouse 3 jours merveilleux !

Kinigi Cottage this is one of the more affordable options in Volcano NP. many in the immediate area seem overpriced or in less stellar condition. it is also a short walk away from the ellen degeneres campus of the dian fossey gorilla fund all rooms are ensuite. the twin room is a little compact, but if budget permits, you can upgrade to the bigger room located upstairs, with balcony breakfast is amazing and fuels you up such that i am still full after my gorilla trek is over. if on longer hike, a packed lunch can be made by the kitchen staff. for dinner, an onsite 3-course meal is offered at additional fees. otherwise, you would need to have a car to get to Ruhengheri (20 min away) for other dining options.

Traumhaftes Juwel, das mit so viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet ist. Wir hatten ein riesiges Zimmer im ersten Stock mit gro?er Terrasse und Blick auf den Volcanoes National Park. Das Zimmer hatte einen Kamin, der uns auch angezündet wurde. Das im Preis enthaltene Abendessen dann im Zimmer vor dem Kamin serviert. Super! Am Miorgen dann das beste Frühstück auf unserer Ruandareise - riesige Auswahl, alles mit so viel Liebe selbst gemacht und liebevoll am Gemeinschaftstisch angerichtet. So kam man auch mit seinen Mitreisenden ins Gespr?ch. Ein Geheimtipp für eine Unterkunft zum Gorilla Trekking im Volcanoes National Park.

I had an amazing two days at Kinigi Cottage whilst travelling in Rwanda. Angel and Joachim were the warmest hosts, and so helpful. The house is decorated with fresh flowers from the beautiful gardens, and they have some very friendly dogs which enjoy a cuddle in the evenings. Breakfast was amazing, and a 3 course meal is offered in the evenings which was tasty, nutritious and very good value, where you can eat with other guests and share highlights of the day. Highly recommended, I hope to come back!

My wife decided to celebrate our 5 year anniversary with primate tracking at Volcanoes National Park. We were recommended Kinigi Cottage through friends and found that it was less than 15 minutes from the park entrance. We had an excellent stay with warmth and highest levels of hospitality from Joachim and his team. Our room was huge, immaculately clean with a comfortable bed and shower and an incredibly large terrace and fireplace with abundant wood to keep us warm. The food prepared was delicious and abundant with fresh local healthy choices. We felt greatly valued in our stay offer 5 stars and our highest recommendations for Kinigi Cottage.
