コラート旧市街地（堀の内侧）にある5阶建ての老舗の名门ホテル。コラート市内観光の名所の一つに数えられるヤーモー広场が徒歩圏内にある他、近代期の混沌としたタイの町并みを未だ色浓く残す商业エリアの正しく中心部に位置するロケーションが最大の魅力。ホテル物件そのものは1969年に竣工したとされ、同じ旧市街地内にあるチョームスラーン ホテル（1966年竣工）とともにコラートを代表する高级ホテルとして知られてきた。ロビー周辺から客室に至る豪华绚烂な装饰は正に近代期のタイで流行した高级感の演出そのもので何とも懐かしい気分を覚えた。客室は现代の基准で见て手狭である上に无理やりリノベーションを加えたような迹が随所に残り今ひとつだが、老舗ならではの高级感の演出や快适性の确保は抜かりなく行っていて好感が持てる。

I stayed here for one night on a two-week self-driving road trip that included Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Lampang, Nan, and Nong Khai, following the Mekong and the borders with Laos and Cambodia. This is a typical It’s a typical Asian city-center-style budget hotel the likes of which can be found throughout Thailand and the region in general. I chose this accommodation because it had ample parking and good reviews. The room and bathroom were large, comfortable, and reasonably clean. The refrigerator, air conditioning, hot water, and wi-fi worked well. The bedding, towels, etc. were good. At a walk-in rate of 1000 THB, I thought it was average but perfectly suitable for a night’s stay. A local-style breakfast was also included.
