Wonderful stay at Maadathil Cottages who accommodated us last minute on New Years Day when our existing booking elsewhere was problematic . The rooms & location are exceptional , clean and comfortable . Everyone was really friendly & helpful particularly Aslan the manager and Raj in the restaurant who looked after us so well & with good humour. Would highly recommend this exceptional place & hope to come back one day .

What a beautiful complex! Scrupulously clean - countless staff milling about the place constantly sweeping up in communal areas and wiping down sun beds and garden furniture. Very generous with replenishing bottled water in rooms. Staff are really helpful and friendly - Arun, Raj and obviously Aslam really looked after us. A wonderful stay at a superb beachside location.

Maadathil Cottages offers a truly tranquil and human-scale Varkala experience. Its biggest draw is the Location, which is superb for peace and quiet. It sits right on the soft sand of Odayam Beach, giving you almost private access and a much cleaner, calmer beach than the main Varkala Cliff. The downside is that getting to the main cliff (for the busy restaurants and shops) requires a 5-10 minute rickshaw ride. The overall Atmosphere is one of serenity and personalized care; the cottages are charmingly set in a green garden overlooking the ocean. Guests consistently rave about the exceptional Staff and host, noting their genuine warmth and helpfulness—they really make you feel welcome. Cleanliness is another high point; the cottages are generally described as spotless and well-maintained. The Restaurant and food are good—meals are fresh and delicious, with the breakfast often praised. However, the menu can be a bit more limited than what you’d find on the main cliff, and service can sometimes be slow, but this is usually accepted as the trade-off for fresh, peaceful dining. It's the perfect spot if you prioritize genuine relaxation, sea access, and personal hospitality over being in the center of the tourist buzz.

Excellent place, lovable hospitality, spacious rooms with all the facilities promised before, and last but not the least, very nice food; definitely worth it. The location was amazing, the people there are helpful, especially Aslam and Shijin, they welcomed us and made our experience better. They have a nearby restaurant to have good food, complimentary breakfast was decent, the cottages were great and the outdoor view of the beach was amazing. The route to resort was little difficult to reach, nonetheless Shijin helped us setup to and fro transport from railway station

Случайно нашла данный отель среди многих и выбрала его для своего пребывания в Керале. Написала менеджеру отеля и все мои вопросы по бронированию были разрешены очень быстро и максимально комфортно для меня. Сейчас пишу данный отзыв и до сих пор положительные эмоции от каждой минуты моего проживания там. Меня заранее предупредили, какой водитель будет встречать в аэропорту, в очень позднее время приготовили шикарный ужин, который ожидал меня в комнате, помогли с багажом и вселением посреди ночи. Я очень впечатлилась таким хорошим отношением. Каждый день генеральный менеджер отеля интересовался моими запросами, просьбами и пожеланиями и каждое из них исполнял))))) При выборе постарайтесь получить комнату № 5 ( в которой я жила), с прямым видом на океан, я слышала его шум каждую ночь, красивая терраса, на которой приятно посидеть в жару. Мне постоянно приносили сладкие арбузы. Везде на территории отеля хорошо работает интернет, даже на пляже. На верхней террасе хорошо лежать в дневное время, там никого нет, как и в целом в отеле не слышно и не видно гостей, очень приятная тишина. Все сотрудники отеля были максимально приветливы, доброжелательны и коммуникабельны. Ресторан недалеко, любое блюдо хорошо приготовлено и цены хорошие. ОТзыв получился очень простой и деловой, однако я хочу сказать, что я избалована разными отелями и странами, а здесь я получила необходимый релакс и спокойствие, тишину и признание самым важным человеком в отеле))) это очень приятно и запоминается надолго))) в отеле генеральный менеджер предлагает любые услуги- массаж, экскурсии, рикшу, такси и т.д., что очень удобно и расценки хорошие. Недалеко находится улица с магазинами и другими ресторанами. Отель - моя максимальная рекомендация, желаю всем прекрасного с нем пребывания

I spent almost a month there and it was again lovely. It was my 3rd or 4th time there. The whole setup is small and thus very personal and the staff will do everything to help. Also to be mentioned: it is nice and quiet. I never much liked the fish there but now they have a chef who is actually capable of preparing a fish just with some pepper and salt and coriander and who will not drown it in masala. That is just some European thing but having such fresh fish it seems a crime to kill it off with some heavy curry sauce. They got in the morning some fresh crayfish and after preparation in the evening it had a nuttiness and slight sweetness I am craving here in Switzerland but will never get. However, it is up to the guests to have a word with the staff to relay their wishes as they cannot guess them. I would want to recommend their driver Anser/Ansar (sorry about that): not only is he very entertaining but he also always has some snippets of of information when driving with him (e.g. to Trivandrum or Cochin). Another point in their favour is that they also have always Indian guests. It would be impossible for me to stay in a ghetto-like Caucasians only place. In short another very good holiday which is to be repeated.

Staying at Maadathill cottages Varkala was outlet best decision . The ambience was so cozy that it was a very special babymoon. Thanks to Mr . Aslam - the best ever manager of Hotel industry . He was so courteous and joyful guy . And Karthik - thanks for enjoying the breakfast session . We had great talks Overall ambience - 10/10

We had an amazing stay at Maadathil, the setting is perfect, we stayed in cottage on top floor which was incredible with breathtaking views. The staff are all very helpful and gave us excellent service. The manager is on hand every day to help with anything you need with a welcoming smile. We look forward to returning very soon.

Very peaceful location, caring staff, with clean, character-filled rooms and generous balconies. Breakfasts are bespoke, including very generous fruit and curd bowls, which were great for us, now on our 5th week of travelling in India as a family with our daughters aged 18 and 21. Loved it! Thank you to the staff for all your care and attention, especially for retrieving my sandal from the cheeky dogs!
