A short walk from the train station in Blois, enter another world entirely at the luxurious Maison Loire. The tranquil mansion, which sits on a hill overlooking the Loire River, is exquisitely furnished and appointed with antiques, and host Nicolas made us feel at home. The elegant and comfortable reception rooms downstairs and the expansive terrace are all spaces you can relax in, and our room was gorgeous. At breakfast, Nicolas plays soft classical music in the background and serves croissants, breads, cheeses, ham, homemade jams, juice and coffee by candelight on fine china, silver, and linen. An unforgettable experience - like living in nineteenth-century French romance novel. I saw the sun rise over the Loire - wish we had stayed much longer!

Very much recommend Maison Loire if you like historic houses. Its very nicely decorated with period features by the currency owner. Everything is done with great taste and care. The breakfast table is beautiful. The tableware is lovely. If you are into period features, then this is a place for you. The house has lovely terrace with an amazing view. For us the only negative was the bed and also the pillows were quite uncomfortable. The host is very nice Gentleman with a great taste for decoration and design.
