This is my second stay at Manor 38 and I truly feel at home there. Its a home away from home, and you will always get the best personal service from the host there. He will let you know all the best spots in town, make sure you know how to be secure, and also will make you the best custom breakfast you want.

Die Unterkunft ist sch?n, jedoch etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Es war alles sauber, aber die M?bel sind abgenutzt und die Einrichtung ist etwas altmodisch. Wir haben dort nur eine Nacht geschlafen, weil wir so sp?t gelandet sind und im Dunkeln nicht mehr weiterfahren wollten. Für eine Nacht war es vollkommen in Ordnung. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und der Besitzer super nett und sehr hilfsbereit. Wir würden das n?chste Mal dennoch woanders hingehen.

Wir hatten nur eine übernachtung, da wir vom Addo Elephant National Park kamen und früh am n?chsten Morgen nach Johannesburg fliegen mussten. Es ist ein sehr angenehmes Guesthouse mit einer sch?nen Ausstattung, allerdings sollten so Kleinigkeiten im Bad erneuert oder renoviert werden. Generell empfehlenswert, freundlicher Empfang mit einer Flasche Wein und Kaffee. Zentral gelegen und fu?l?ufig zum Strand und Restaurants. Allerdings hat Port Elizabeth nicht wirklich etwas zu bieten um l?nger vor Ort zu bleiben. Eventuell für Taucher von Interesse.

A Wonderful Stay
We recently had the pleasure of staying at this lovely bed and breakfast,when we came to PE for Ironman 2025, and we can't recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, we was greeted with warmth and hospitality that made me feel at home. Christopher, the host, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect – nothing was too much trouble for him!
Christopher crafts a delicious breakfast spread that caters to all tastes, making sure everyone starts the day off right. You must try his home made musilie!
The room was incredibly spacious, allowing for plenty of room to unwind after Ironman. There is ample storage – ideal for unpacking and making it feel like our own space. The good shower was a highlight; its powerful spray felt amazing after a long day.
The common areas were beautifully designed and very inviting, and the pool area was a delightful bonus, offering a tranquil spot to soak up the sun and relax.
Overall, our experience at this B&B was fantastic, and I cannot thank Christopher enough for his outstanding hospitality. If you're looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay, this is definitely it! I can’t wait to return!

Manor 38 is located in Summerstrand Port Elizabeth. The Manor is beautiful, nicely decorated with spacious bedrooms and bathroom, private television, WiFi, etc. It also has two large sitting rooms, one with a large television and fireplace for all guests to use, plus a gorgeous swimming pool. The daily breakfast is preordered, with selections from fruit plate, cereal, toasts, eggs cooked many different ways, including omelettes. The staff, specially Christopher, deserve recognition for outstanding service. They were helpful with recommendations, tour reservations, and much more. Please note that Port Elizabeth has some issues with alcohol and drug addictions so important to be vigilant. But thumbs up to Manor 38 and a super staff!

On arrival you come up to a large gate so you have space to park your car safely The person checking us in was nice and welcoming, you need to tick what you want for breakfast on arrival which l don’t like to do as l do not know how hungry l will be. The room was clean and presentable but it didn’t have an air conditioner but had an over head fan that unfortunately was squeaky so couldn’t use it so we didn’t have the best sleep. (The cheaper room inside does have air conditioner) The tv was hard to work, and couldn’t find any local channels, but it did have Netflix and some other apps when you got it working. The pool is a good size but it needed a net to get all the leaves out and it did have something at the bottom which didn’t look inviting, when we arrived the sun was setting and so the pool was a bit cold for me to swim. ( next morning it still needed cleaning but nothing was done) Breakfast was very nice, coffee (cafeteria)which was nice, orange juice l am not sure it was fresh as it tasted artificial. I had fresh fruits and yoghurt and muesli followed by a cooked breakfast it was all very nice, and cooked Perfectly I think with some friends this place would be nice, or even some more guests, but if you like the quiet then it’s more for you.
