We had such an amazing time visiting your lodge. Our guides, Fernando and Nixon were incredible. They were so patient with my children. It’s such a beautiful place. Hiking around and seeing the animals was such fun thank you so much for having us.

Muy bonito todo, muy amables y buen servicio, caminatas, cascadas , muy ecologistas , buena comida y bebidas!!!!!! Súper recomendado para gente que le gusta la naturaleza y cambiar en el bosque, las habitaciones de lujo y los servicios también!!!

Se cerchi il silenzio del bosco accompagnato solo dal canto degli uccelli e delle rane, se vuoi un’ immersione totale in boschi dove ogni centimetro è coperto da una flora incontaminata con foglie giganti mai viste prima e cascate dove fare il bagno, se vuoi scoprire i segreti della rana di cristallo e della tarantola o delle farfalle e delle scimmie urlatrici, devi andare a Mashpi. Grazie alla nostra guida locale Anderson abbiamo scoperto i segreti del posto risalendo fiumi controcorrente e camminando sotto la pioggia protetti dalle piante. Un viaggio per chi ha voglia di ascoltare la natura e i suoi ritmi. In albergo Jairo ci ha coccolati durante ogni pasto facendoci sentire unici. Grazie davvero a tutti per le premure accordate ad ogni ospite. Personalmente lo sconsiglio ai bambini sotto i 12 anni e a gente che non cammina o non si adatta alle condizioni meteo

What a fantastic lodge up in the sticks of the Quito cloud forest. Loved every minute there. Great birding and the butterfly breeding area is amazing. Special thanks got top all the staff there but especially in the restaurant Fabricio, Jorge, Xavier, and our guide Andreas who was great at his job and so knowledgable. Would have liked to see some bird feeders closer to the lodge but maybe that would spoil the enjoyment of tracking the them. The cable car and bike ride (Dragonfly) also fantastic to see and do across the forest canopy. All incredible , thanks again for a great 3 nights there. Roger and Denise Sargent.

Mashpi Lodge is a beautiful lodge in a wonderful location. The food was delicious with choices to please everyone. We enjoyed hiking, watching hummingbirds and butterflies, going on the skybike and the gondola. Guests go for a short walk on the day of their arrival and the hiking activities are arranged with guests in at a similar level which worked out well. Don't miss the night hike! We stayed 3 nights and I would recommend that as a minimum. We combined this visit with a Quito stay and a Galapagos trip.

Mashpi is in an incredibly beautiful location. The surrounding area is full of life and with many spectacular views. And they have made really good use of the area with a number of really cool walks down into rivers etc. We thought the Dragonfly ride might be a bit of a gimmick but, actually, it was really impressive. The different views you get of the canopy and cloud forest are unique. The hotel itself is also incredibly nice along with very comfortable rooms and great dining. Sharon on the front desk and Jairo in the restaurant are credits to the hotel! The only thing worth mentioning, which I think could be improved, is organisation of the tours. The tours you can go on - when you can go and how - all seem a bit rigid. You are put into groups and while it seems like you don't all have to do the same thing - exactly how you can choose to do something else isn't clear. And then you have to decide in front of everyone else in your group which is pretty awkward. We wanted to do one tour, another group wanted to do something else, and the guide basically emphasised it was easier for us all to do the same thing. I think for the money you spend to be here, they should make this better. But - you can't fault the quality of the hotel, the people that work there and how they employ many staff from the local community.

Eravamo molto curiosi di poter vedere la famosa rana di vetro e questo ci ha portato a scegliere il Mashpi Lodge per 3 notti anche se più costoso di altre strutture.? Non ce ne siamo pentiti ! Abbiamo organizzato il trasferimento con loro, partenza da Quito Casa Gangotena, con noi c'era un'altra coppia californiana, l'auto era molto confortevole e l'autista ha guidato in modo tranquillo e sicuro per più di 3 ore, su e giù, tra villaggi e strade di montagna, il trasferimento é stato piacevole e col bel tempo. Poi siamo arrivati in questa fitta e umida foresta ed all'improvviso in fondo ad una strada sterrata ecco il Lodge: Mashpi è una struttura modernissima eco friendly proprio nel bel mezzo di questa enorme foresta. Mantenere uno stabile così bello e di questo standard in mezzo ad una foresta umida ha un costo.? Siamo stati accolti dal responsabile e dallo staff, e dopo dei drink di benvenuto ci hanno raccontato la storia della nascita di questo stupendo Lodge, da un pezzo di terreno disboscato hanno creato un'attività fiorente con la stretta collaborazione della comunità locale, Mashpi offre numerose opportunità di lavoro per i membri delle comunità vicine, tra cui formazione professionale e corsi di inglese e acquista prevalentemente da fornitori locali. Lo stabile é molto bello moderno e con tutti i confort ma é lo staff che rende questo soggiorno estremamente piacevole, tutti sono di una grande gentilezza e professionalità, sempre col sorriso e di buon umore, si ha l'impressione che siano tutti parte di una grande famiglia.? Sia a colazione che a pranzo o a cena il cibo é stato ottimo, fresco, innovativo e gustoso, ben presentato; i camerieri oltre ad essere bravi nel loro lavoro sono molto simpatici, purtroppo non ricordo il nome di tutti, ma di Edison si, simpaticissimo, lui e mio marito hanno fatto delle grandi discussioni parlando di calcio ed era molto ben informato sul calcio europeo e italiano . Molto bella anche la nostra camera, pulitissima, molto spaziosa, moderna e con enormi vetrate panoramiche, pure il bagno era enorme e i prodotti di ottima qualità, il letto era molto confortevole abbiamo dormito bene, la camera era però molto fredda,?a causa della grande umidità devono tenere l'aria condizionata al massimo, ma si può chiedere di spegnarla o una coperta supplementare. Per gli amanti della natura questo é il posto giusto, una grande biodiversità, tantissime possibilità di escursioni, semplici o più impegnative, ad ogni ora del giorno o della sera, la sera si va alla ricerca degli insetti anche nel torrente con stivali di gomma e poncho per la pioggia (piove molto spesso) alla ricerca della famosa e minuscola rana di vetro, che abbiamo visto. C'é tanto da fare e da vedere, oltre al birdwatching, alla Dragonfly, la Observation Tower, la Sky Bike, il laboratorio, la casa delle farfalle e la mia preferita : la postazione dei colibrì, sarei rimasti lì ad ammirarli tutto il giorno, ce ne sono tantissimi, di tutti i colori, con la coda
