This is such a lovely review, thank you so much for your kind words about our renovations, and the fact that the Lodge retains its original charm and character. As of this time next week we will have completed renovations in all 20 rooms (and built 4 more new ones). Our staff and their can-do attitudes and warmth are the most important part of the equation, thank you for noticing this. So pleased you enjoyed our food and the gardens and all the aspects of your stay. You are welcome again! With best wishes from the team at Mount Meru Game Lodge.
Dear Markus, thank you very much for your review and 5 star rating, this is great news! So pleased to read that you embarked on our complimentary walking tour to nearby Usa River to see markets, shops and general activity in our local town. With regards to our menu - yes, our dishes are predominantly Western-style; but we do a Swahili buffet each week and we have a Swahili salad, meal of the day, and chipsi mayai (chips and egg) dish on our a la caret menu. Our breakfast buffets incorporate Swahil baked goods such as mandazi and mitai (variations of deep-fried spiced donuts). We are always tweaking our menu offering, and will definitely look at where we can incorporate more Swahili options going forward for those who would like to savour local foods. Thank you again for your descriptive feedback, it is greatly appreciated. With best wishes from the team at Mount Meru Game Lodge.
We are so very happy to read about your positive experience here at our special Lodge; especially the part about our team members going the extra mile to ensure you had a comfortable and enjoyable time. As I write this, we have just experienced our first substantial November rains, which have certainly cooled things off a bit! We are honoured to have hosted you on your final night in Tanzania, and proud that we could give you such a good send-off. We hope to welcome you back again one day. Karibu tena! With best wishes from the team at Mount Meru Game Lodge.
