Staying here for 2 nights and 3 days was an incredible experience. I'm deeply grateful to David and Amanda for their exceptional work in preserving this unique haven. This lodge is truly one of the most breathtaking places I've had the pleasure of staying in, with its immaculately clean rooms, humble and kind owners, and serene atmosphere. The views of Akaroa Harbor and the surrounding mountains are simply stunning, and the peaceful sounds of nature create a sense of tranquility. It's a truly uplifting escape from the city, and a testament to the beauty of nature Really 10 out of 10 My family really love staying here definitely we will come back

这是一个具有欺诈性质的私人民宿，根本不是什么公寓或者酒店。我们12人（多位长者）在11/12晚上9点自驾至全款预订的该民俗后被拒绝入住且不愿意退款，原因是他们规定入驻的最迟时间是晚上19:00点。该时间在新西兰还是太阳高悬时刻，落日是20:30，是大多数家庭吃晚饭时刻。但该地区偏远，21:00已经没有人烟，被拒入境犹同置身荒郊野外，强烈谴责这种不人道的行为！当地警方和同业人员对这种行为也感到羞耻。千里迢迢，人生地不熟的游客路途有耽搁是正常之事，又有谁能理解这个不合常理，不合行规的入驻政策？平台应该下架这家民宿！呼吁所有中国游客抵制这家民宿！

Nice location with view out to the harbour. However, accommodation was average, in need of updating decor but more so safety precautions both indoor and especially outdoors is highly needed. Indoors stairs leading to upstairs bedrooms very unstable. After enjoying a lovely family wedding during the pouring rain, there was no visual lighting leading up to the unit accommodation and while going up the multiple stairs I had a big fall resulting in torn skin and a cut nose & forehead which could have been avoided had there been lightning from the ground entrance all the way up the stairs. No assistance was around and the next day discussing this with the manager it was dismissed. It really is a health & safety issue and can be avoided with future guests if rectified. This incident should have been recorded and noted by the manager as this really was a health and safety breach and could have been a lot worst. I hope they take note to avoid this happening to future guests as all it takes is decent lighting. Guests be warned of the lack of outdoor lighting on the stairs.

We take Health and Safety very seriously and further to your discussions with David (Manager) we reviewed our outdoor lighting and added some additional stairway lighting as discussed at the time, we also had the internal stairs checked by a licensed builder, but he could not find any fault. Words cannot describe how amazing and perfect Mt Vernon Lodge was to celebrate our special day. We planned our entire wedding from Australia and had never been to Mt Vernon or seen the property before. David & Amanda were fantastic and very helpful with any of my questions and really made everything super easy. If you are planning your wedding here, I definitely suggest you book two days or more we stayed for four nights. It was such a wonderful way to spend time and connect with all of our family & friends before & after the wedding and really made the wedding day itself very relaxed as we didn’t need to rush around trying to catch up to everyone. The function area is very large, clean, and well equipped with everything you need. There is also a lovely outside area. They also have great games for everyone to play after the ceremony and a great outdoor area in front of the lodge for drinks and canapes after the ceremony. All of our friends and family commented on how great their rooms were, super comfy beds, all were very modern and clean. The lodge area was a great meeting place for everyone, and we had a BBQ for all our family and friends the following day. This area had plenty of fridge space and a very well stocked kitchen you could cater for a lot of people. Also a beauty firepit for everyone to sit and talk on a cold night. I cannot thank you both enough for such an amazing day and helping us to create such beautiful memories with friends & family.

Fantastic place to stay - very reasonable price and absolutely beautiful. We stayed for 2 nights in a chalet which was really warm, had all the kitchen amenities we needed and was super-clean and tidy. The hosts were great, and the view from the balcony was fabulous. We had a great sleep on the super king bed, and we'll definitely be back! Very highly recommended.

Ultra Clean lodge, laid out well, bedroom clean and coffee etc in room Clean bed’s great wee shower, but of a scary drive up hill but all part of the adventure. Awesome shared kitchen and dining area out front of lodge surrounded by native bush land, wood pigeon everywhere
