Oasis paradise in rural unspoilt Crete Review of Oasis Studios Pending review My third time to Rodakino, and first to Oasis.We were 5 people and took 3 studios, 2 with kitchenette, all have bathrooms and balcony overlooking the sea and coastal mountains offering sunrise and sunset views in Summer. Our hostess Cristina (and her husband) worked hard to make our stay enjoyable, cleaning daily and changing sheets/towels twice in a week. Provided soft drinks, bottled water, beer, fruit and raki in the room in arrival. Christina was always friendly and kindly got up by 6am to wish us well as we left early on our last day, and had made us a plate of sweet pastries and gave us 2 bottl es of family made olive oil which I have been savouring slowly in salads since! It was windy several days but we were able to swim safely. Beach is calm and gently sloping (don't bring inflatables in wind).There is shade from trees on the beach and loungers to hire Eu5 per day I think, and a free cold shower on the beach. Several more beaches walking east or west round the small headland. The local tavernas are excellent, each with their varied local sources of cheap wine by the 1/4, 1/2, 1 litre, local produce and speciality dishes.We liked the meals at Nicos and Ana's most. We drove to the southern point of the impressive Imbros gorge early (about 630am) and walked up and down (up to 2 hours each way, avoiding the heat of the day). Plakias, and nearby village Myrtios, with wonderful taverna Plateia Myrthios is worth a visit, as is Preveli a little further east
