My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights January/February 2026, this was our 2nd time here, the last time being 2019. Iain and Jack are perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble for them, anything you want or need, just ask and they will sort it for you, and if they are out of the house you can give them a ring. The house is very clean, it's in the town, and everything is in walking distance. Iain and Jacks knowledge of the town and the history is great, so if you are looking for something to do, or somewhere to go, then you need to ask these 2. We had the Crown room, it was nice and clean, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had a lovely shower and hot water all the time. We have booked to go back there again in August. You need to book this place as soon as you know the dates you want, or you may miss out and end up paying more than double in one of the other hotels. Thank you Iain and Jack for a lovely weekend.
1st review I've ever given, this place deserves it. Beautiful and unique decor though out. The host Jack was very friendly welcoming and very helpful. The toiletries didn't stop, you even get pillow spray and ear plugs, which we didn't need. Next gig we go to this is definitely the 1st place to book

A sumptuous place to stay
My hosts were friendly and professional. One Drake Road is beautifully furnished and there are myriad beautiful touches to make this a unique and truly splendid stay. It was comfortable, homely and a great place from which to explore Tavistock and surrounding areas.
Jack and Iain came to our rescue! Literally, we was in need of a family member to come stay last minute. We called Jack and within 5 minutes he had booked us a room with a late check in. After a long drive from up north my aunt arrived with simple instructions from Iain we found a warm cozy room with gorgeous Neil’s yard organic toiletries. Was super clean with fresh smelling sheets, Jack made sure my aunt had plenty of milk and teabags (she loves her tea) thank you Jack and Iain we will definitely be booking our family members with you again

Warm welcome room was well kitted out for toiletries and comfort. A little noise in the morning due to our room being next to the main drawing/dining room
Wonderful hidden gem. We stayed for 1 night for my best friend’s and partners birthday. Everything we needed was in here, down to the little touches to make our stay perfect. Towels were warm, milk and teas etc on arrival. Candles lit, music on. The vibe was insane. The price was perfect. Very accommodating the owners allowing us early check in at short notice for a small fee which was worth it. It really was incredible. Bedding soft and beds comfortable. Absoutley wonderful!
