Cozy, comfortable, relaxing and “oh - what a view”
Even in the winter this is a great place to stay.

The hotel is located in a very quiet and peaceful area, making it a great place to relax. The oceanfront view is beautiful and definitely the highlight of the stay. However, cleanliness could be improved, as it did not meet expectations. There was no access to the swimming pool during the stay, which was disappointing. Additionally, the room did not have a microwave, which would have been convenient. Overall, the location and view are excellent, but some basic amenities and maintenance need attention.

The decor is giving Twin Peaks, and I love it. Bed was comfortable and the hotel was nice and quiet. No kids meal options on the menu unfortunately, and nothing listed as specifically gluten free. Friendly and helpful staff.

We had a great time at Painter's Lodge. The view, food, and peaceful atmosphere were fantastic. The reception was super helpful. One area for improvement would be to focus more on cleaning and room service.

Das Hotel liegt direkt am Wasser und ist deshalb sehr sch?n gelegen.
Wir hatten ein sch?nes Zimmer mit Blick aufs Wasser.

My husband booked a two night stay at Painter's lodge for my birthday. Apparently the lodge is under new management and just opened 2 days before our stay. This lodge must have been quite the hotel in its day. It needs a lot of work and with love and care I think it will reach its original beauty.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. The restaurant and bar were not up and running but we were offered a continental breakfast of yogurt, fruit, granola bars and juice.
The location was perfect and the decor was lovely. It felt like time had been turned back to a wonderful era. Lots of history displayed on the walls.
We had a wonderful stay.

The hotel supposed to have a restaurant and pub but both were closed because the management was transferred to a new owner. It seems that the hotel does now longer belong to the Wyndham group.
Upon check-in, the receptionist informed us that 'breakfast will be served in the hotel lounge". However, 'served' meant that a brown paper bag was handed over, and breakfast turned out to be a muffin, a candy bar, a box of juice and two manderins. They put a tiny coffee machine in the lounge so guests had to stand in line to make their own coffee.
The answer to my complaint on checking out was that they couldn't get everything ready after transfer of management 4 weeks earlier. How hard can it be to organise a breakfast? Unacceptable!

Painters Lodge has always been a high end resort destination in my home town. When we arrived to check in, the room hadn't been cleaned, but only after we had been sent to it. The room we did end up with didn't have hot water. At best it ran just above luke warm. The main seating area at the resort entrance has buckets on the floor to collect water leaking through the roof.
