Nice location with views of the water. Tairu is a welcoming town. Room was basic but comfortable

This is the 3rd time we have stayed here. Great location, beautiful view and always clean. Bed comfortable and shower pressure great.

Paku Lodge Resort is a lovely place to unwind, especially if you appreciate a good view. The sea outlook from the room was genuinely stunning — the kind of view that makes you pause and just enjoy the moment. It really adds something special to the stay.
At night, I did notice a few insects around, which seems pretty common for the area. It wasn’t a deal?breaker, but worth being aware of if you’re sensitive to that sort of thing. The room itself was comfortable, and the location makes it easy to explore the beach and surrounding spots.

Scenic balcony & room view. Enjoyed watching the tide come in and out. Access to kayak and shovels for Hot Water Beach greatly appreciated. Terry, owner very hospitable. Extremely well stocked kitchenette, complete with stove top & pots!

Nice room but expect some noise
Really nice spacious room with views out to the estuary which is pretty. I was enjoying my stay until I started hearing noises from the accompanying rooms so the walls are probably a little thin. That was during the nighttime and then I got woken up the next morning by people moving around and opening and closing cupboards etc. You can also hear cars coming and going as it’s only single glazing. If you’re not a light sleeper, this might not bother you.
The bed was quite comfortable, I liked the big screen TV, and that there was a small kitchenette there
