We had a very enjoyable two days at the Peacock Riverside. Facilities were adequate, functional, and good value for money. Madhu gave us authentic, simple, yet very tasty Sri Lankan food. Sujee is an expert guide, very knowledgeable about the Uda Walawe park, its environment and behaviour of elephants. His emotional attachment to the environment and to the wildlife was most evident when he described about the well-known female elephant “Jasmine”, killed that night by a criminal. We wish this hardworking young couple, Sujee and Madhu, all the best. Keep your heads high in this difficult business climate. Keep smiling. You will have a better future. Our stay in Peacock Riverside definitely exceeded our expectations! Not only we had amazing stay combined topped up with delicious home made food but our host also organized the whole safari trip for us, what was really convenient. Sujee is very knowledgeable about the Udawalawe National Park and because of 15 years of experience he knows it like the back of his hand. We spotted a lot of elephants, monkeys, buffalos, various types of birds and even some crocodiles. Our room was really clean and spacious, it’s a shame we spend there only one night. As mentioned before Sujee’s wife prepared amazing dinner for us where we could try a lot of different types of curry. I can’t recommend this stay enough!!!

Our stay here was simply spectacular. The tiny house is in the middle of the jungle and you can see lots of birds and small animals from the balcony. Beautiful! It feels like heaven on earth. Also, sujee is the most welcoming host you can imagine. He does everything to make you feel at home. sujee walked us around his garden and we got to see passion fruit, pineapple, cinnamon and many other plants. We enjoyed delicious food prepared by his wife. The safari he arranged for us was also very beautiful. If you've ever dreamed of sleeping in the jungle, Peacock Riverside is your choice! A perfect accommodation for those who want to enjoy the environment. I would really like to say that even though it is in the middle of a jungle, it is a very safe place.

It was marvelous! + During our stay at the Peacock Riverside Guest house, we did not only enjoy great service, an amazing safari, very clean rooms and delicious food, we also made such a wonderful friendship with Sujee. Sujee and his wife and brother (who owns the restaurant around the corner) are such kind and lovely people. They always made sure that we have everything we need and arranged everything for us. Sujee himself will be your guide for the safari. Within our tour, we were really lucky and saw many different animals, as Sujee knows where to look and drive. He also introduced us to his squirrel friend ?Chuty". As for the rooms, they are very clean, equipped with a fan and ac and have modern wash rooms. The rice and curry Sujee's wife prepred for us was more than amazing! All in all, we could not have been happier during our stay and are glad to have made a friend like Sujee. We are looking forward to our next stay!

Sujee the owner was a great host. I contacted him using whatsapp and got a quick reply. I was quoted for 2 nights accommodation and a one day safari at Udawalawa National Park. His guest house was perfect and in a beautiful location by the river. His wife cooked me some amazing meals as well. The safari was great, seeing a lot of animals. I even got to drive the Jeep for a while as requested. After the safari he took me our for drinks and we visited a local religious festival which was an amazing experience. Highly recommend Sujees services and guest house.
