Went for a meal on Saturday food was okay but now very pricey.pub grub at restaurant prices.wont be back ??

We stayed for one night, room was very spacious and well equipped. Very comfortable bed. We decided have our evening meal at the Red Dragon too and the food was really good. Breakfast was equally good. Overall, we cannot fault the accommodation, the food or the staff who were all very friendly.

We had numerous recommendations for a good Sunday Roast in Kirkby Lonsdale....this was our chouce and it was exceptional x

Change not always as good as a rest We have been to this hotel previously when we rated our stay as excellent. Apparently, there have been some staff changes recently and we found that we didn’t enjoy our stay as much as the previous ones. We arrived early only to be met by a charmless member of staff who told us there was no chance that he would check us in before 3pm. We only wanted to leave our bag there until check in time as we were parked a distance from the hotel. To be fair he allowed us to do this. The other service that had deteriorated was the evening meal and the wait we had to be served. The barman gave us menus but never bothered to take our order and took orders from other tables who had arrived after us and we eventually had to go to the bar to place our order. When the food eventually arrived it was not worth the wait. By way of contrast the breakfast was superb so complements to the chef. We feel a little disappointed that the recent changes that have been made have only served to reduce the customer experience and we would probably look elsewhere the next time we are staying in the area.

Decent rooms in the hotel, breakfast ok looking a little tired in the pub area

We often go in for drinks and really like the bar but on this occasion we decided to eat with the family. Ordered a chicken burger got a beef burger. After a 40 minute wait (the bar wasn't busy) our meals arrived but were very dried up the buns stale, the cheese & bacon hard. The tomato & basil soup was like tomato puree. The staff were apologetic and knocked ￡9 off the bill & gave the kids free desserts but the bill was still ￡59 for a very bad meal.

7 of us had a wonderful couple of days this week. The rooms were all very well furnished and well kept. We all enjoyed an excellent breakfast and dinner from a menu for all tastes. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We would certainly recommend the inn and hope to return ourselves in the future.

On a short break in Kirby Lonsdale and called in for evening dinner. Very welcoming and accommodating. Plenty of choices, I had the Sunday roast pork, was the best I have ever had. Tender meat, a wonderful selection of fresh vegetables. My husband chose a vegan option, it was out of this world. We will definitely visit again and would highly recommend.
