Had the best time staying at Redtail Ranch. Beautiful house, has every amenity you need. The hosts were super friendly and very quick to respond to any inquiry we had. The beds are very comfortable and the property has trails to walk around. Being a dog-friendly property was a plus for us! Will definitely come back when I return to Yosemite.

We stayed for two nights and it was the most peaceful part of our week long road trip. The perks for us were the comfy king bed, AC for the oppressive heat, a nice big shower, double sinks in our unit, and a zero light pollution at night. So great to get away from our busy lives. The breakfast of granola and yogurt was delicious too. Hope to be back again!

Hubby and I stayed here for 2 nights while we were visiting Yosemite. The property is located about 5-10 minutes drive from "downtown" Groveland. It is hidden away from the road and very private with beautiful views of a meadow. Our room was on the end and well appointed, including a private hot tub and walk in shower. The only things I wish the room would have had were kleenex and maybe some paper towels. I do not pack kleenex when I travel as they are usually provided. There is no TV but the Wifi was excellent. It is about a 30 minute drive to Yosemite Big Oak Flat Entrance which was very convenient. I would definitely stay here again and maybe utilize the very nice outdoor kitchen amenities next time.

Outstanding accommodation and worth every five star review. The views from our unit were sublime and the only sounds were birds in the garden outside. So relaxing! The room and bathroom were spacious, clean and private. The coffee in the room was probably the best we had while in the US. The village of Groveland was quite adequate with a number of places to eat and a well stocked supermarket. Distance to Yosmite is quite doable. Thank you to the team at Red Tail Ranch - we wished we could have stayed a few more days!

I didn't know what to expect when I booked the Red Tail Ranch. Could all the 5 star reviews be real?? Yes. This is an amazing place! The house was meticulous and the views of the meadow surreal. There are some nice little hiking paths on the property and lots of places to sit down and enjoy the outdoors. The outdoor grill worked perfectly and the outdoor patio is the perfect place to enjoy a meal with a glass of wine. Stargazing on the property is a must. There was a power outage for the whole town and Robb the owner was out there making sure that everyone was comfortable. He got generators and ensured we had power for what we needed. The property is about an hour and fifteen minutes from Yosemite. It's also very close to the local store (15 minutes) that carries everything that you need.

I could not have picked a better place to stay. It was perfect for my family. Big Oak Flat Road is currently out of commission and our detour was 2.5 hours each way into Yosemite but this is no reflection on the owners of Red Tail Ranch. When this road is open you will enjoy the relatively short drive away from the crowds. We loved our time there . You can tell the moment you open the door the owners take pride in Red Tail . We rented the Meadow House. ….. it was very clean , the beds were comfortable , the kitchen had a bar area with seating a small kitchen table with two chairs that looked over a part of the garden that a hummingbird visited each morning and had breakfast with us, two dishwashers, a phone charging station , gas stove, full stainless fridge (with the promised breakfast items) and all the small appliances , dinnerware utensils pots and pan you need. I am not kidding when I say this is a home away from home. The Dining room was over looking the patio and meadow. It was all very zen . The jacuzzi was a nice touch to relax in after a day in Yosemite! They have an outdoor grill which we utilized as well. I am a former travel professional and look for the little things that can make or break people’s stay and truly , the only thing I could find the Meadow House was lacking was a fly swatter … flys mosquitoes and bees are just waiting for that door to open lol… the Mar-Val Grocery store was quite the surprise. It also gets 5 stars for its friendly workers , huge selection for a small store and prices. It was a short drive from Red Tail. We bought for our breakfast , snacks and drinks and we cooked one dinner at Red Tail. I challenge anyone to find fault with Red Tail. It was like coming home the moment we walked in the front door. I will stay again and I will recommend to anyone I know visiting Yosemite.

We had two wonderful days at Red Tail Ranch. Yosemite Park itself was closed, but we still spent an unforgettable day at the accommodation. We took a great walk on the gorgeous property and enjoyed the afternoon in the hot tub. The hosts were so friendly and took super care of us and our stay. The decor was great and everything was there that you would need. The cereal for breakfast was delicious. One of the best days during our USA trip.

Quiet, peaceful spot. Beautiful and well appointed room. Extremely comfortable bed. We sat be the fire, read our books, watched the birds. Enjoyed our private hot tub after a drive to beatiful Yosemite valley.

My only hesitation about reviewing RTR is that I enjoyed it so much I would want to be able to come stay again and wouldn’t want it to be booked already, which it might well be as word spreads, because it’s great. I booked the Meadows house for our family of 4 (including teenage daughter and teenage son who were lucky to get their own rooms!!). It was immaculate, tastefully decorated, cosy and serene. With 3 double bedrooms it easily fits 3 couples and there was ample room in the kitchen, living room and dining room that 6 would not feel crowded at all. I think it may be written up as a B&B and my only comment would be that the breakfast part was for us to make ourselves (no problem with that at all) and included tea, coffee and yoghurts and granola. We happen to like tea, coffee, yoghurt and granola, so I’m just saying don’t expect someone to be there making you a fry up hot breakfast. It’s a little bit off the beaten path (from rt-120) but still only a 15-20 min drive to Groveland with restaurants, supermarket and excellent ice cream store. And the serenity of the location (and beautiful meadow) make it well worth the slight diversion. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
