Great staff and very hospitable.

We arrived at night and left the next morning, and for that purpose it worked well.
Good location, but like many riads in old medinas, it is hard to find. The staff member did met us in our car and guided us to the riad, which we appreciated. Be aware that you must carry your own bags for about a 5–7 minute walk through uneven, bumpy streets inside the medina. Assistance with luggage was not offered, even for smaller bags like a laptop bag, so this is better suited for backpacks or light luggage.
The room was spacious and comfortable, maybe the largest room we stayed in at a riad. It was clean, the bathroom was well equipped, amenities were plentiful, and bottles of water were provided. This place offers a decent value for the area.
Breakfast was a highlight. The traditional Moroccan breakfast was very good, and when the staff was unsure whether we wanted tea or coffee, they kindly brought both.
There were a few issues: We filled out forms with our detailed personal information at check-in, including passport details and signatures, and the completed forms were left unattended overnight and still there the next morning, which raised privacy concerns. Late-night phone calls in the common area carried into the room and disrupted our sleep, which was especially difficult given our jet lag.
Overall, a practical option with a good location and comfortable room, but better attentiveness to privacy, noise, and guest comfort would improve the experience

Riad Dar Zen is a reasonable option for a short, one-night stay if your main goal is to visit the old medina in Rabat. We arrived at night and only planned to sleep and leave the next morning, and for that purpose it worked well. The location is good, but like many riads inside old medinas, it is difficult to find. The staff member did come out to meet our car and guide us to the riad, which we appreciated. Guests should be aware that you must carry your own bags for about a 5–7 minute walk through uneven, bumpy streets inside the medina. Assistance with luggage was not offered, even for smaller bags such as a laptop bag, so this riad is better suited for backpacks or light, easy-to-carry luggage rather than large rolling suitcases. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, actually the largest room we stayed in during our riad experiences. The bathroom was well equipped, amenities were plentiful, and bottles of water were waiting for us. While the riad is not particularly luxurious, it was clean and comfortable, and considering prices in the area, it offers decent value. Breakfast was a highlight of our stay. The traditional Moroccan breakfast was very good, and when the staff was unsure whether we preferred tea or coffee, they kindly brought both, which we appreciated. Interactions with the staff were generally polite but felt somewhat abrupt at times. We were required to write down detailed personal information at check-in, including passport numbers, addresses, dates of birth, and signatures. The completed forms were left unattended on a table overnight and were still there the next morning. I ended up picking them up myself, as I was uncomfortable having sensitive personal information left out in a shared space from a privacy and security standpoint. One issue that affected our stay was noise late at night. Around 11 pm, loud phone calls were made in the common area, and since we appeared to be the only guests, the sound carried and woke us up. We were significantly jet-lagged at that point, which made it difficult to fall back asleep and impacted our overall experience. In summary, this riad offers a good location, a large and comfortable room, and solid amenities, making it a practical option for a brief stay. However, more attentiveness to guest comfort, privacy, and quiet hours would improve the experience.

Had better experiences in other Riads.
No greeting with Mint tea. Refused to come to our driver to assist with bags and finding the Riad. Tareq was not overall very welcoming - we were very used to this welcome with all of the properties we had stayed in. Breakfast was quite plain. No shower in room, only a bath in the middle of the room.

The service was great. Tariq was so friendly and very helpful. He gave us a lot of great tips for our stay in Rabat.
The Riad felt like an oasis in the Medina.

Beautiful place! Truly zen like. Great people and I recommend having a dinner! I had a surprise proposal dinner and they were very accommodating. The pool is great too. It’s great addition to cool off and lounge.

Lovely property and very well restored and decorated, very peaceful and quiet.
All that was in vain for me and the room I stayed in (pearl) however as the light from outside shone through the moucharabieh, and badly affected my sleep on all five night. See photo. Also this doesn't have a bath, it's a shower now so the web photos need updating. If you specifically want a tub you may be disappointed.
They don't clean the rooms unless you specifically request it to be done , saying some people don't like cleaners being in the room (surely anybody would saybat check in if that was the case ?)
The breakfast policy is very odd. You have to state a breakfast time at the beginning of the stay, and that will be your breakfast time for the duration, you cannot deviate from it
If you are one, five, byen, however many minutes late it will still go on the table at that time for the local birds and flies to feadt on
Don't get it - three rooms and it only takes five minutes to warms some baked goods and put them on a plate.
Small things, no welcome drink at check in, only one bath towel provided, water not replenished.
Once they have got on top.of the basics here a small fridge in the room would be massively beneficial and sun loungers on the top roof would be a huge selling point.
Verdict -,3 star property at a four star prices. Has the potential for a great spot with some improvements

Encantador
Sitio con mucho encanto, cómodo y el personal amable. Céntrico y es tan bonito que apetece estar ahí todo el día.

Ottimo ryad all'interno della media. Stanza pulita e ben accessoriata. Proprietario gentile e disponibile. Buona colazione marocchina. Unico neo, la stradina per arrivare alla struttura (chiusa in quanto termina davanti il Riad) è sporca e piena di escrementi di gatto...andrebbe pulita meglio.
