Our stay here was absolutely fine, although not quite what we expected. We were the only ones staying so although we had just booked a room, we were upgraded to one of the villas. Nice to have the extra room although much more suited to longer self catering stays. It’s a lot more shabby than it looks in the photos but basically functional. Access is via a long and deeply potholed track which you must take carefully, especially at night, but lovely views once you get there. Our host was very helpful with good recommendations. The jackal appearing at our front door in the evening was a bonus, but don’t feed it!

We really loved our stay here. The accommodation was perfect for our family with all self catering needs provided. A beautiful location with stunning views of the mountains and a lapa where we could all meet and eat together, The swimming pool provided endless fun for all of us and the activities, shops and restaurants in the area are great.

We stayed here for a long weekend. It was perfect ?? the accommodation is great-wouldnt ask for anything more,huge rooms,nice kitchen and spotless. The setting is perfect and great location, its close to everything you want to do,lovely views and clean. The host(Ryan) is an awesome guy, we got on like a house on fire?? he checks in on you at least twice a day, arranging anything you might need, informing you of anything going on and just going out of his way to make sure you have the perfect holiday! I saw him getting wood and making fires for guests that arrived late and fixing lights late at night for guests that wanted that?? Just a perfectly run establishment. Have to give this getaway a 10/10 and a special thanks to Ryan for making us want to come back??

River Crossing ticked all the boxes to host our family reunion, providing a central lodge for the Durban and Jhb families. Terrence and Ryan went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable and had a successful reunion. River Lodge is comfortable, neat, peaceful, has beautiful views and well equipped. Thank you Ryan and Terrence we will return.

The host Ryan was in touch when the day of check-in came, he was respectful and also mentioned the gravel road when coming to the place which was helpful. The stay was great even though it was just for one night and he warmed up the room as we were coming in the evening, and the Burgs get cold, we appreciated that thought. The place was clean and there was a lot of space, the beds had electric blankets which was convenient due to the cold, and the bathroom facility was in order. my overall it was a comfortable night's stay and we enjoyed it ! Thank you Ryan

The accommodation was neat & tidy with beautiful views of the mountains. Tranquil surroundings & best of all pet friendly. We had a wonderful stay, thank you Ryan for being so kind & most accommodating. We will be back soon. God bless!!!

Very nice trip down memory lane. Enjoyed the location, stay and host. Villa fulfilled all expectations. and all amenities were to our satisfaction. Centrally located and all amenities in the area was easily accessible and reachable. Loved the stay and will definitely visit again. Loved Juna (the dog) as well.
