For the money, is a no.
I have stayed at the Ruby as a hotel guest previously, and I have now stayed at the Ruby as Serain resident guest.
Every day of the week I would chose and prefer to stay at the ruby as a hotel guest, because the room was cleaner, fresher and in a far better condition.

Excellent Apartment! Highly recommended.??
The apartment is so clean and the design is perfect. So quiet and loving the ambiance and all. Perfect for couple and families to stay. Free parking and very close to surfers paradise. The area wasn't noisy at all and you will enjoy your stay. Excellent!

Property was good, clean and conveniently located. Communication leading to check in really soured the experience

A bit iffy
The hotel was in great proximity to everything we needed. Great parking, easy access with keykards but also secure.
The apartment itself was quite dirty. Lots of dust which triggered asthmatics. Also the batteries need to be changed in the smoke detection, beeping through the night.
The floors had not been clean and toenails were in the carpet. The air conditioner in the 2nd bedroom was leaking onto the wardrobe door and carpet.
The main concern was the bed in the main bedroom. The sheets had makeup on them and there were visible handprints on the headboard in what looked like lubricant. With no other option of spare blankets, we had to sleep on the bed. Not cool.

Prooerty was well managed as didnt realise was schoolies time but was still quiet & security was good. Was a good stay

7 of us booked for a weekend away for my birthday. Walking in the hotel was lovely then we got to the room. Had to go down to the car park to get a key but u can’t get into the Carl park without a key. Then it’s a lock box within a lock box to get 1 key and u have to go up into surfers to get a 2nd key. The floors were not very clean water in the bowls in the cupboard, beer bottle tops in the downstairs loo. The balcony’s looked like they have not been cleaned in months, the lead on the kettle was melted. This all seen with in the 1st 10 minutes of been in there. Later went to rehang the towel on the down stairs towel rack to find out it’s been held up by blue tack . Couldn’t open 1 if the bedroom doors to get fresh air, the air con was impossible to get working even following the directions. And when it got cooler by night no heat either. We had a pull out bed for one of the girls there were only 2 light sheets for her no spare pillows and no heavy blanket we had to use towels. We paid almost 1200 for 2 nights Never again.

Never book with Ruby by Serain Residences - they make you go on a hunt to find the key to the unit and then deliberately only give you one key. They locate the second key in town, meaning you have to walk several kilometres to access the second key to the unit. What a pain! Especially given we were two couples. Everything in the unit was cheap and nasty. After reviewing my receipt I noticed they wacked on an additional $150 cleaning fee which in no way could be justified, as the unit was not really clean. There were hand marks all over the pictures on the walls above the couch and the couch was stained and dirty. There were no instructions for some no name brand microwave and the rest of the kitchen implements left much to be desired! There were 3 butter knives, three forks and a couple of teaspoons. The knives were paper thin and looked like they came out of xmas cracker. The egg flip was so flimsy that it folded under its own weight when used. I went to reception to ask for some steak knives not realising that reception was run by CLIX, who said they couldn't help me because they did not manage our unit - Serain residences managed it. So I rang the help number on my email and ended up talking to someone in China who could not even understand what I was saying nor could talk properly for me to understand. In the end I spoke to someone else who told me that they don't provide steak knives in the unit and I should go to the restaurant to eat downstairs. I replied i did not want to go to the restaurant and they said sorry, can't help you. While waiting at reception to ask about the knives, two other couples were in line before me and I could hear them complaining also about their units which were managed by Serain. It was clear they didn't want the stove or oven to be used, as there were no shelves or trays in the oven or in the cupboards. There was only one extremely burnt and out of shape fry pan and no other pots or pans. The cups were all mismatched like they came from an Op Shop! The television was cheap and nasty with a long vertical groove running down the screen on the right side, obscuring programs that were on. There is no way a cleaner could earn $150 for no time spent 'cleaning' in that unit. The accommodation was not cheap, but if you deducted the $150 cleaning fee they charged up front, it would have been reasonable. There were no cushions on the couch and it was so uncomfortable because the wooden couch frame, dug into your body. The roll down blinds on the sliding doors were badly in need or replacement. The car park was tight and stunk badly like grease trap that had gone off or sewerage. I had been to Ruby a couple of years ago before Clix or Serain managed the units and it was lovely. Unfortunately these units have been neglected since then. I would not take the chance again to go to Ruby at Surfers Paradise. What a disappointment!!!
